My wife introduced me to Lomo Saltado over 10 years ago. We had really good Lomo in CA. Once we moved, we had to make it ourselves and have been for many year... but Panca's Lomo kicks ours butts. The meat, the potatoes, the flavor, and the yellow and red sauces... combine them all to make the best Lomo we've... More

Very good Peruvian restaurant, in the line of recent Peruvian cuisine trends that made it one of the top in the Americas. We tried the ceviche, anticuchos and lomo saltado. All were very good and very very close to the real thing you will get in a good place in Lima. A few slight changes have been made from the... More

My family and I went to Panca on a whim. We're Peruvian and were craving some authentic food, but sadly we left disappointed! The restaurant is very small and crowded. We had to wait a while for a table of 5. It took a while for them to take our order, bring our check, etc. When the food came it... More

I attended with a couple of business suppliers. Nice, casual restaurant in the West Village - Nice enough for a casual business lunch or dinner. We went for dinner. They play lively Latin American music (salsas, Latin pop, etc.). In general, if you want to find out what all of the buzz is the past 4-5 years about Peruvian food... More

This restaurant is a friendly spot. I personally like seating at the bar, where you can mingle with bartender and other goers. Food are small portions but full of flavor and texture. I like the quinoa dish, so creamy. Ceviche here is good. My favorite part - the drinks! The current barman gets creative with these drinks. There are some... More

My Peruvian friend brought me to Panca, and we had a delicious meal. He has been coming to Panca for 10 (?) years and says it's the best Peruvian food in NYC. The ceviche we had was excellent with several different ways of preparation. And the duck with the special rice was fantastic as was the stir fried beef. A... More

This welcoming restaurant is near the Sheridan Square/Christopher St. #1 subway stop, where Bleecker runs into 7th Avenue in Greenwich Village. Quite tasty food, with Peruvian favorites--grilled veal heart, great Pisco sours and other cocktails made from that bourbon-like liquor. I had their fish stew (white fish), which was yellow with the pepper used in many Peruvian dishes, a bit... More

We came across Panca while looking for something "different" for lunch. Panca looked interesting, and the food exceeded our expectations. We started with a shared order of cebiche (cebiche clasico de pescado), very fresh fluke marinated the traditional Peruvian way in lime juice with a little garlic and probably a chili or two. It was attractively served and generous in... More

Staying in West Village

Neighbourhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighbourhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
