Enjoyed my salad and sandwich. Everything was fresh. We were a large group and everyone was pleased with the quickness and quality. If you want fast food and something healthy, this is a great option. Tasted like something you would make at home, not like a pre-packaged meal.

Stopped in around 3:00 in afternoon and deli counter was closed so had to settle for $9.99 a pound buffet food. Good, nothing special but at least it wasn't the usual overwarmed, stale variety found at most buffets. Lots of precut fruit available. Rather pricey compared to what I would pay at home, but hey, it's NYC after all. I... More

cooked food is okay but nothing special. My wife had the fruit which she said was very nice. There is a big selection of food from fruit to bagels, cooked meats, omelet, of really big range. You fill you tray with food and they weight it to get the price, sitting upstairs.

Location is basically self serve. They have a large self serve area with hot and cold entrees. Variety of type of foods. They have a salad station where you can create your own salad. It's chopped and mixed while you wait. They also offer a sandwich area. Seating area is small. Hectic atmosphere during lunch hours. Overall, ok.

Huge deli-style place with a variety of hot meals, packaged food, and beverages for sale. Reasonable prices and good customer service. There is a spacious dining area at the mezzanine.

I had a veggie wrap, besides the hummus they just put raw veggies on it with no sauce, salt or pepper or anything so it's really bland.

As most accommodation is Room only, it is so easy to go to an Essen Shop which has just about everything you could wish to eat. It is very well priced and is of good quality. You can either Take Away or eat in as they normally have table and chairs in a separate eating area.

Essen is the place we go to for lunch almost every day. The variety is excellent. One of the best take-out places near our office.

My daughter works just around the corner from this place. With limited time to meet up for lunch, this was perfect. It's a cafeteria-style place where you go to the "station" that has the food that you want, and then you pay at the register. Our whole group went for Udon and sushi. We were not disappointed. The Udon bowls... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
