The sandwiches came out fast and fresh! The location is extremely convenient. Great value, especially considering the area. The crunch tuna was definitely my favorite of the two sandwiches. I would definitely go back!

The food is innovative, fresh, and delicious. Our order of sandwiches and salads were ready at the time we ordered and while there was a slight mixup in the order, the substituted food was also quite good. Excellent menu options have something for every palate!

I stopped by here one day for lunch after passing by each day and seeing the long lines of people waiting for a sandwich from this place. I definitely do not regret that decision! I discovered that this tiny sandwich shop has a fantastic, mouthwatering selection of sandwiches, salads, and sides at affordable prices (around $6-9). The ingredients seem quite... More

First time visiting The Picnic Basket and I will be back! Ordered the Goat Cheese salad and it was delicious! Cranberries, mixed greens, and beets created a tasty, healthy lunch option. It was crowded but the line moved quickly and the wait tolerable. I might try ordering online and see if that's faster. Very small place and not much opportunity... More

Healthy creative sandwiches and paninis. I had the prosciutto(so?) mozzarella and sun dried tomatoes panini. Hummus salad looked good. Breakfast options looked good. Located in an atrium of office building with live piano player and several other food options that looked great and a step above your average lunch spots. Highly recommend.

If you work in the dead of midtown, it's a slow death of subpar chain restaurants. This place is funky and delicious, with paninis, salads and daily specials. Get there early- They'll run out of the popular stuff! Tip: must get the side sweet potatoes- they're baked chunks of deliciousness

Ambience - 3/5 It is on a busy street and you really hear the cars go past. It's not a place you go for a fancy meal but it's fine for what it is. A healthy fast food breakfast. Location - 4/5 Great location on a side street off Avenue of the Americas and near Bryant Park. Not easy to... More

I met a friend midtown for lunch, and The Picnic Basket wasn't too far from where our subways met at Times Square. As others mentioned, it's sometimes swallowed outside by the line for Chick-fil-a (which made me laugh now that I live in NC--we have Chick-fil-a's everywhere). I got the turkey pesto hot sandwich. Ordering was quick, although the wait... More

Just around the corner so convenience counts- but so does taste. A fun "little" place that draws a crowd in the mornings and for lunch. Had the Shakshouka Bowl and a cappuccino! Healthy start to a Big Apple Day! Quick service and with a smile!

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
