Put simply - this place is a simply stunning. In a city where the best stand out, this is as good as any restaurant in NYC. Many boast nyc's best burger yet I challenge anyone to find a better burger anywhere. It's modern American X Italian with lots of history. One can easily see the mafia dining where in years... More

My boyfriend and I went to Minetta for my birthday dinner, on the recommendation of a friend who lived in the city. Keeping in line with the neighbourhood, Minetta Tavern is a charming restaurant that reminds you of a traditional time. It was a bit crowded while waiting for our table, but we were both able to enjoy an Old... More

But we did !!! Luckily there was just me and the wife and there was room at the bar for two, because otherwise you would have to book weeks in advance and we were only in New York for a week ! It's like the Tardis inside, open the door and it's a massive place but from the outside you... More

Wonderful restaurant. We had cocktails, black label burger, New York strip steak and a Grand Marnier soufflé, so pretty much stuck with their signature dishes. All delicious and the service was great, atmosphere on a cold night warm and friendly.

On the plus side are the atmosphere and the quality of the meal. The restaurant projects a NY of times gone by with black and white tile floor, dark wood, red leather seating, low lighting. Three of us ordered the monkfish special and it was delicious. one ordered the grilled lamb chop which was huge and also delicious. Depending upon... More

We have a tradition of eating out on Christmas Eve, and have occasionally found the perfect restaurant that doesn't make you feel rushed or as if only the junior staff had the misfortune to be working that evening. This is one of those places. The staff was friendly, provided excellent service, and offered expert insight into the menu. The food... More

Old style Manhattan with great brunch and great hamburger. I can understand why Minetta was fav place for Hemingway. Tables too too close but the place and the food are excellent

This used to be one of my favourite restaurants in NYC. I have been several times. On our last joint visit, my husband said that he no longer wanted to eat there because he feels that the tables are ridiculously crammed together. I agreed but still like the restaurant, and have been since. Alas no more. Table of three for... More

Their Black Label burger is always on the top burger in the city and with good reason. It worth every penny of the $33 price tag it carries. The Minetta has an old school Italian vibe and is a great place to eat. I've only had the burger and the bone marrow appetizer, but the steaks on a neighboring table... More

Wonderful space evoking the New York of yesteryear and packed to the gills! All hidden behind a most unpretentious entrance. Waiter was delightful, helpful at every turn. We came to try the vaunted burgers ($25 for the pedestrian, $30 for the top chopped), but sadly were apparently not wearing our burger best. Alas-not sure of the standard, but hadn't thought... Staying in Greenwich Village

Neighbourhood Profile
Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to get a feel for this diverse and energetic neighbourhood. You’ll find NYU students, street performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess. Stroll the streets to discover a mix of majestic town homes and hidden bars and restaurants that give this neighbourhood an old-school residential feel. When the sun goes down, check out one of the famous jazz or comedy clubs that still packs them in every night.
