I have spent most of my time in New York in the 80s and 90s... and not much since then. Indochine reminded me of this... retro-class with supermodel waitresses, the vibe, the colors, everything. It doesn't bother me a bit (but I gather it does...More

The room is pretty, the tables are well=spaced, and the pre-theater prix fixe is nice-- the shaking beef was tasty if not terribly tender, and the Asian eggplant was a great appetizer. Desserts were all French and delicious. And it is just across Lafayette St....More

The place is very well located, however is not easy to find, because the entrance is low profile. The decoration is classical, and the personnel very friendly and helpful. The menu offers an interesting variety of Vietnamese dishes. The wine and cocktail menu is relatively...More

Yes, for a restaurant that had its heyday a long time ago, to still have an attitude as to where they seat you (specially on a Sunday night at 7:00 pm) is not only deplorable but doesn’t make any sense business wise in these days...More

Indochine has become my favorite dinner spot before an evening performance at the Public Theater. The atmosphere is fun, the food is delicious and the drinks are dynamite. Be sure to try the Indochine martini with ginger and pineapple. We love the spare ribs, the...More

I haven't been to Indochine in years!?! Well, it is definately back on my immediate radar! The Indochine Martini and Vietnamese Ravioli, are enough in combination with the always chic atmosphere and expert service, to keep you coming to this 35 year old, establishment! Make...More

I was told before going that Indochine has "great food, poor service" so, I went expecting as much. I was pleasantly surprised to say the least. The food was delicious - really, really good. They must have been having a good day, because I really...More

Had reservations last night and while waiting for a table, watched as a female patron got into verbal fight with a bartender. The bartender then proceeded to spit across the bar and into her face. The verbal comments continued and about a minute later the...More

The decor is impressive but the food tastes are too far from the ordinary and so you might find that a good number of the people are displeased. Try an Italian restaurant with nice decor, most people like Italian food.

I've only eaten at Indochine pre-theater and it was not noisy at all then. I don't know if it gets noisier as it gets busier later in the evening. I would strongly recommend though that you request one of the curved booths... More
