This place serves the best brunch in SoHo or even Manhattan I dare say, hands down. I do recommend a reservation or you will wait as its very busy, totally worth it though.

My wife and i went here for our anniversary and had a spectacular evening. We had been to Balthazar before but it been a few years mainly because it is hard to get in. Make a reservation well in advance. This is not a place to go for a quiet evening. Balthazar is crowded, a bit cramped and bustling. And... More

Balthazar is something of a New York City icon. In any other city it'd be the place to go if you don't feel like thinking too hard about where to go for dinner, but it's popular enough here that you have to book well ahead or be prepared to wait for a long while. If you're visiting New York City,... More

Breakfast was excellent! From the pastries to the breads to the entrees-all just as good as the next! The eggs poached in red wine were the winner! The service was efficient and friendly!

This place was packed to the gills on a Sunday evening, even the bar, very, very popular! We didn't eat but everything looked and smelled good; the bar was well stocked.

Brunch, breakfast, anything you want! Go!! Carol was our waitress! Great woman. And the waiters were attentive and kind. Families were there. Groups of friends. Couples. Everyone seemed to really be enjoying the food. Coffee is great! We will definitely go back!! You won't be disappointed! We say GO!!

We just stumbled upon this restaurant, hidden behind scaffolding, the place was busy and the food looked delicious. We had a light but delicious French lunch, a French bistro in the heart of SoHo.

Balthazar has become a must when visiting NY. Never lets you down, excellent seafood and specially the oysters. Make sure to make a reservation, it is always packed here. The atmosphere is great, lively and buzzing.

Staying in SoHo

Neighbourhood Profile
SoHo
Once the artistic hub of New York City, SoHo (South of Houston) is now one of the premiere shopping destinations in the world. Housing everything from the most popular luxury brands to swank boutiques you won’t find anywhere else, this is a sophisticated shopper’s dream come true. Broadway teems with big-name stores and people during the day, while Prince and Spring Streets are the other main drags to explore by foot. Take a detour down the quieter side streets to see the real star of the district –majestic cast-iron architecture everywhere you look. What were once warehouses and art studios are now meticulously restored loft buildings favored by many of New York’s celebrities, making SoHo one of the trendiest addresses in the city. The pretty streets of Nolita (North of Little Italy) offer a more sedate vibe, with plenty of tiny boutiques and hip restaurants to seek out.
