Welcome to lunch that time forgot. We were going to be in soho and needed a place for a quiet moment and lunch. We got that, and a trip back to the 90s. How quaint to have your fries served in a clay pot. I had fotgotten that was a thing. How pretentious to have a wound up host in... More

Setting was great, downstairs in the Mercer Hotel. Good ambience and unique layout. The food was good. Can't say excellent but very good. Nice starters including plenty of gluten free options and the mains options are extensive including burgers, pizzas, all the meats and fish. They also have gluten free sandwich options. Wine was excellent, tattinger champagne was beautiful and... More

They have the BEST Coconut Chicken Soup! It's really amazing! I also love the burger and the roasted Chicken. Super delicious! The desserts are really great too! The atmosphere is so great too. The main restaurant is down in the lower level and very warm and inviting. It's great to go with friends and have cocktails, a great bottle of... More

We had made a reservation for 3 people. We arrived slightly ahead of our reservation, were told our table was not ready that we should wait at the bar. As soon as we sat down we were told they could sit us upstairs instead of the main dining room. We got up to go and as we got there we... More

Bloody mary good- but celery stick came from 1874. Steak good came bleu not med-rare, but pricey and too salty and not exceptional. Decor hammered. Service lousy. Move on, dont even bother with the other reviews I am telling you..

The burger was so good we savored every bite to the extent that we were chewing each bite 50 times. The quality is as good as 5 years ago when we went for the first time, staff is attentive and the place has a buzz.

We had lunch and was seated underneath the sidewalk where people were walking on the metal grates above us creating great light and shadow movements in the room. And all of the Mercer Kitchen intrior is contemporary, cool and hip. The food was good too, but most of all it's the atmorsphere that makes this place. Really service-minded server which... More

We went for a late lunch on Friday so the menu was limited but we had a nice meal anyway. The service was friendly and good. The bathrooms needed a little cleaning, but other than that we had a great lunch!

Food is fresh and delicious. Need reservations for brunch. Mac and cheese, fish and chips and pizza all great. But, not to be missed is The Mercer Burger. We were fortunate to try several items due to staying at The Mercer Hotel. See separate review.

Located at the Mercer Hotel, Mercer Kitchen brings a chic, sophisticated vibe to the heart of SoHo. When Mercer Kitchen opened in 1998, it immediately became a destination for New Yorkers, celebrities, and tourists. Situated in the basement of a historic building constructed in the 1800s, the restaurant was designed by Christian Liaigre as a combination of industrial and classic modernism. Chef Jean-Georges' American menu features market-driven, seasonal ingredients prepared in a simple yet elegant style, with favorites like the Tuna Spring Roll, Steamed Shrimp Salad, wood-fired pizzas, and classic Warm Valrhona Chocolate Cake. There is an open kitchen, where guests can sit back and watch the show. The perfect restaurant for group dining, special events and celebrations.

Staying in SoHo

Neighbourhood Profile
Once the artistic hub of New York City, SoHo (South of Houston) is now one of the premiere shopping destinations in the world. Housing everything from the most popular luxury brands to swank boutiques you won’t find anywhere else, this is a sophisticated shopper’s dream come true. Broadway teems with big-name stores and people during the day, while Prince and Spring Streets are the other main drags to explore by foot. Take a detour down the quieter side streets to see the real star of the district –majestic cast-iron architecture everywhere you look. What were once warehouses and art studios are now meticulously restored loft buildings favored by many of New York’s celebrities, making SoHo one of the trendiest addresses in the city. The pretty streets of Nolita (North of Little Italy) offer a more sedate vibe, with plenty of tiny boutiques and hip restaurants to seek out.
