Basic pastry/dessert place with overpriced coffee, cheesecake, pastries, milkshakes. The desserts we ordered were not really inspiring or overtly better than say your basic "chain restaurant".

My daughter and I shared a piece of Nutella Cheesecake and a fruit tart at Cafe Lalo. We stopped at the cafe as part of a tour. The sweets were just terrific. They came packaged in fun boxes with gold doilies. The cafe is featured in a movie so it was a fun experience.

Me and my friend are huge fans of romantic comedy and Meg Ryan with Tom Hanks, so being in Nyc, we Had to see this place. It's really nice and romantic, ideal for dates.

This is an absolutely charming place. I think it is better for breakfast and lunch than dinner, but for a drink or coffees and the most wonderful late night pastries, this cafe is grand. Enjoy!

I actually had new heard of this place before stumbling out of a long walk in Central Park. Now I am not one for sweet things but my travel mates are. All I can say, if I had to be converted to sweet things this would be near the top of things that would convince me. Had to wait a... More

During the day, soft classical background music; at night louder recorded rock and jazz. Come during the day to enjoy their vastly assorted menu and great pastry

I came here back in 2008 for the first time because of my love for the movie, "You've Got Mail". Back then, I wasn't eating dairy and had the best non-dairy cheesecake of my life! I decided to come back on my recent trip to NYC and couldn't wait to go back to Cafe Lalo and have some cheesecake, expecting... More

The welcoming charm, delicious food and drinks, casual atmosphere of this classic New York cafe never seem to fade, just get better. It's just off Broadway on 83rd Street, quiet neighborhood. And yes, "You've Got Mail."

Completely not worth it. Dessert was stale and lackluster. Service was poor. Not worth the time or money.
