This restaurant is a neighborhood go to and one of the last of the old New York classic French Restaurants. Small, intimate with French market prints and a sleeping calf picture. You will be greeted by the owner and will notice she seems to know...More

This is a classic French restaurant with all the resulting beautiful cuisine, which even sounds delicious: snails, salad with rococo, lamb, sumptuous desserts, gorgeous French wines. The interior is a bit like the present Parisian cafe - slightly dirty, with the smell of tobacco smoke...More

Le Veau D'or has been presenting classic, modestly priced French cuisine for more than a half century in an unhurried, non-pretentious atmosphere.Change and "La Moderne" are not key notes here. The management (Kathy) know what it is doing and what its valued patrons like. One...More

Lovely little restaurant inconspicuously located diagonally across from Bloomingdales. Excellent food at reasonable prices, warm and cozy atmosphere and excellent, friendly but unobtrusive service. About $50 per person for three courses without wine. We had a lovely bottle of Bordeaux for $48.

Just dropped in when the pointed pub had non unreserved table. Friendly place. Fantastic Boef Bourguignon and a tasteful Mousse de chocolate.

Had a great corner table. Steak au poivre, poached salmon were our main courses - and exceptional on every level . The floating island is a can't miss!

We loved it! Well, prepared , authenic , classis French. Fun , unpretentiosness atmosphere. Hard to find comfort in NY. Much prefeRable to its pricier, haughtier, younger competition. we will return for sure

My family has been going to Le Veau D'or for more than 50 years. The experience is always special, food delightful and well priced. On most nights the dining room is predominately french speaking......a very good sign!
