The wait staff here is super attentive. I had the cast iron hanger steak and calamari. The steak was cooked to perfection and flavorful. The calamari were light and tender. A perfect starter.

My friend and I stopped I here for lunch yesterday, and enjoyed it. The staff was very friendly, and the food was good. My friend had the mahi mahi tacos, and I had a sandwich. I was surprised Happy Hour went from 12-7, so we were able to get drinks half off. It was a small restaurant, but clean and... More

The bar area in front of the restaurant was packed as we made our way to empty tables in the back. It was still very noisy in the back. The good news is the food was delicious. The pan sautéed chicken was so flavorful served on lots of creamy risotto and asparagus.

Stopped by here on the way to Madison Park- great spot, and a lovely table by the big, open French doors. Seriously- the best fried calamari ever! I had a nice sancerre with it, and will be back ASAP! :)

Went for a long weekday lunch--it was busy but not too crowded. The place is very inviting and warm and there's space like you don't always find in NYC pubs and restaurants. We both got cheeseburgers, excellent, but also sides, drinks, and desserts, all very good also. The chocolate cheesecake with caramel ice cream (which was a special, not on... More

Suffering from jet lag and our bodies thinking it was dinner time all we wanted was a no fuss lunch. It was empty but slowly filling up as we were eating. Plenty of space. They offered us tap water as well which I thought was great because you don't always want to by a big bottle for yourself. I asked... More

I had the Apple Salad which was on the specials menu. It was really good. It was reasonably priced, service was quick. I wouldn't go out of my way to go here, but if you are nearby it's good.

Staying in Flatiron District

Neighbourhood Profile
Flatiron District
Offering many of city’s best restaurants and shops set amid classic New York architecture, the Flatiron District is no longer under the tourist radar. At 23rd Street is the famous triangular Flatiron Building, which makes a good picture no matter what angle you photograph it from. Be sure to look up at the elegant architecture as you stroll the streets- much of this neighborhood is part of a historic district that was home to many of the city’s most famous department stores at the turn of the century. At the northern end of the neighbourhood, Madison Square Park is best known for being the home of a famous burger shack, but it can also be a quiet refuge to spend an afternoon, and it frequently hosts interesting public art exhibits. In the lower part of the Flatiron District you'll find Union Square, a bustling crossroads at all times of day and night.
