I'm a sucker for a ricotta cheesecake and Veniero's makes the best one I have ever eaten anywhere. I had my first cappuccino here in the 70's long before the chain stores served it. Must visit in East Village for all.

Every visit to NYC includes a trip to Veniero’s! Once again did not disappoint. Teenagers concluded after gelato and cannoli that NYC has best food in the country. SFOGLIATELLE was awesome. Can’t wait to go back.

Dream come true, so delicious !!! You can get from small pastry to a big cake for special occasions. Definitely my favorite place for guilty pleasures, totally worthy. If you have sweet craving you gotta go.

A friend who grew up in NYC raved about this place & rec'd that we HAD to go there to try their pastries. Even though it's been around for many years (since 1894); doesn't mean that it's really that great/special. We got a slice of...More

This was my foto place for many years but lately it just is not the same. They prefix the cannoli s which makes them soggy, the baba rum has less alcohol in them. And the cookies are not as good. The coffee however is still...More

Our Italian being not so good, we went in expecting a pasta dinner. Poor us! We had to settle for delicious cakes and coffee instead! The restaurant was beautiful and the service was good.

One of the best places when you want to have dessert first! Love the ricotta cheesecake and the gelato is excellent. So many choices, it is hard to decide. Suggestion: choose more appropriate background music. Loud hiphop music just doesn't cut it.

This place is historical but the pastries are just average. Very nice looking but too sweet for my taste. Prices are not too high so you could buy one and give it a try!

Such a choice of yummy cakes we had to go twice! Old style decor and good service. But the cakes and pastries are the best.

I stopped in here with relatives for a late night dessert. The bakery case was a feast for the eyes, as was the decorative ceiling in the seating area. There was a helpful photo and description guide for the various pastry choices on the table....More

East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village,
which offers plenty of unique small businesses
catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college
students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the
old-time neighbourhood feel that you can still
experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned
shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of
the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to

Our Uncle Antonio Veniero came to New York City back in 1885 when he was just 16 years old. He worked in a candy factory downtown from our current location. After 3 years he was promoted to a manager and 6 years later he opened his new business at 342 East 11th Street (our current location) which he called A. Veniero Confections. He just served candies but his patrons wanted something to go with the sweets so he started to roast his own espresso (with six different beans) and then he eventually brought in master bakers from Italy and the rest is history. People have been coming to Veniero Pasticceria & caffe for many generations and we are so proud of Antonio Veniero's vision and we strive each and every day to make the freshest desserts, cookies, biscotti, Gelato and drinks. The secret is simple. Use the highest quality ingredients, the finest flavors, freshest fruits and never take any shortcuts. Please come experience the legend of Veniero's for yourself either in person or online. We promise you will feel the passion that Antonio felt when he first came here to America over 131 years ago. That dream is carried on by his great nephew and nieces along with a dedicated baking staff that has a work ethic like no other. Not many places can say that and we can promise you that we will continue to make sure we make the highest quality baked goods for you and your family for generations to come. From our family to your family we look forward to serving you. Ciao, The Veniero family.
