This place is a great diner experience! Sit at the counter and they cook the food in front of you, chat to you while they cook. Very fast service and the food was delicious every time, (We went 3 times). Gets busy around 12 so go early or later for a better experience, it's quite a narrow place.

Have breakfast egged, pastrami, corned beef, a burger, or other legit deli food but go. And have soup. You will be glad you did. And I have never been able to but should try the carrot cake or cheesecake. It's good. You'll enjoy it.

We were recommended Eisenberg's by Steve on one of the bus tours, and we weren't disappointed. Fantastic New York sandwich shop with friendly staff and amazing food. Will definitely be back next time I'm in NYC.

Went there for a late breakfast during the week. The place is a classic dinette with stools as you enter and a few tables in the back. The food was fine. A little bland but not bad. The service was slow and inattentive. One cup of coffee the whole meal, no refills. I get the old look of the place,... More

I've walked past the place many times, but never had an opportunity to stop. I either already had breakfast or it was too late for me to have dinner. I stopped for lunch and ordered one of my favorite sandwiches: pastrami on rye with brown mustard and cole slaw as a take-away. It is an old-style New York deli. A... More

The premises itself only has a small doorway easily miss-able we found this by mistake whilst visiting the Flatiron building. We wondered why people were queuing to enter what appeared to be an unassuming sandwich shop which looked nothing special from the outside. one glass window and a door with sign above saying Eisenberg's Sandwich continuing fine quality since 1929,... Visited Eisenberg's for a late breakfast/early lunch & were not disappointed. An old fashioned long narrow Diner with old memorabilia on the walls takes you back in time. This place buzzes with the hustle & bustle of city life & it was great watching life go by. The service is great, the waitresses are chatty, helpful & happy to help... More

After 20 years, came back with a friend for a brunch. The place is exactly as it was before, cosy and warm. The server is extremely nice. We had coffee with oatmeal and cheese cake. They are all wonderful. Will be back for sure.

We walked in to Eisenberg's by accident. Best accidental stop on the trip! Huge amounts of excellent deli food - scrambled eggs and smoked meat so large that it fed 2 of us! Best of all - the bill for 6 of us was under $75 - including a generous tip!

Thank Benaron G

Staying in Flatiron District

Neighbourhood Profile
Flatiron District
Offering many of city’s best restaurants and shops set amid classic New York architecture, the Flatiron District is no longer under the tourist radar. At 23rd Street is the famous triangular Flatiron Building, which makes a good picture no matter what angle you photograph it from. Be sure to look up at the elegant architecture as you stroll the streets- much of this neighborhood is part of a historic district that was home to many of the city’s most famous department stores at the turn of the century. At the northern end of the neighbourhood, Madison Square Park is best known for being the home of a famous burger shack, but it can also be a quiet refuge to spend an afternoon, and it frequently hosts interesting public art exhibits. In the lower part of the Flatiron District you'll find Union Square, a bustling crossroads at all times of day and night.
