I always stop here for dinner when in NYC for business. This place has the real deal Italian food. The owner Joe will greet you and make you feel at home. The pasta and chicken parm is one of my favorites. The decor is old school and the staff will take care of you.

Those in the know dine at Forleni's. You know it's great when your guests say"hey let's go back to that place". You will be greeted by Joe Forlini and seated in a NY landmark and waited on by waiters with personality and charm. The people watching of judges, lawyers and guests is outstanding. Any Italian dish you can imagine will... More

After a long (but unintentional) absence, my wife and I visited after attending a nearby wake on Mulberry Bend. Been a patron since 1967! We were greeted warmly by Joe Forlini, who kindly remembered me. Picking our booth, I opted by the table dedicated to the late NYFD Commissioner Nick Scopetta. I worked under this gentleman while he was Commissioner... More

We were getting foot massages on a cold rainy afternoon and decided we needed pasta! Good warm authentic pasta! We walked over and saw Forlini's dining room...capacity at 7:00! We charmed our way to a small table and the magic began! Great wine list at more than reasonable prices! Witty staff who could not have been more charming. But the... More

At first, we almost didn't sit down. We had just come from walking the Brooklyn Bridge and were pretty exhausted. The place was pretty quiet, this was around 1:30 PM on a Saturday. However, the reviews on Trip Advisor were just too good to ignore. The staff was amazing! They were so sweet to my friend and I. The owner... More

When we sat down, we asked for water, instead of asking if we wanted bottled or tap, still or sparkling, the server replied as if he had never heard of someone ask for just water and the tone exuded immense judgement for this transgression, "you don't drink alcohol?" I do not like being judged for not drinking alcohol, also it... More

Best Pasta Fajol on the planet. Chicken Parm was really good. For dessert you can never go wrong with a tartufo. However I did not see Joe F.

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Bursting with an amazing array of sights, sounds, and smells on every block, a visit to Chinatown feels like entering a different world. It’s a colorful spectacle that gets even more crowded on weekends, when families stream in to enjoy huge dim sum feasts and to stock up at the markets on Mott Street. To take a break from the buzz, grab something sweet from one of the many bakeries in the area and head to Columbus Park, where many Chinatown residents exercise, play games, and chat the day away.
