Was recommended to visit the restaurant by a friend. Ordinarily would not have travelled down this way but will certainly do so again. Minimalist decor with cool, knowledgable and helpful, staff helps set the scene. A relatively short menu but full of appealing food topped off by a list of specials. The Polpo Infferni was great as was the citrus salad... More

I am a huge peasant fan and I have reviewed them twice but something went terribly wrong on Friday. I was solo and I wanted red meat. The bartender/waiter suggested the only dish which was a t-bone. I ordered wine and before I could finish my first glass of wine the steak arrived....right then and there i knew something was... More

I had such a great expletive at the restaurant from the friendly front of house to the service that I would say was impeccable. This place has a casual atmosphere and a very relaxed feel. I would definitely recommend ordering the sardines, octopus or the clams as a starter. Their popular suckling pigs is worth a recommendation, along with their... More

Kind of hard to find, but through an anonymous door, you will find a trendy and busy restaurant, and in the back of the restaurant you could spot the woodstove. This gives the restaurant a somewhat rustic look in all its "trendyness". The food was ok, but not as rustic as I had hoped. Well worth a visit!

Liked so many things about this restaurant - best linguine with clams I have ever had- huge clams ! Great waiter. Even though we had open table reservations we still had about a 45 minute wait- they felt bad about that and gave us a wonderful sampler of their desserts that were amazing. Great NYC bistro type spot.

We eat here a couple of times a year and always enjoy our meal and the atmosphere. It is always lively and busy. This place is full even when "hotter" restaurants are not and for a very good reason. The food is consistently good! They have a very good selection of "wood-fired" grilled items and you can always see the... More

Another great Elizabeth St find! Had been eyeing this off since we arrived 2 weeks ago, and as the saying goes ' we saved the best for last!' Fabulous ambience, attentive waiter, amazing food and quick service. A memorable last night New York dinner.

To think that we drove 1 1/2 hours from New Hope PA to meet friends here for what could have been a good time and meal when there are a ton of great restaurants where we are is truly a shame. The hostess was the beginning of a negative start as she was rude when we entered and then finished... More

I rarely eat Italian food when I travel, since I can have that in my country or I can cook it at home. I was invited by friend and I have to say that it was really excellent, every ingredients top quality. The appetizers super good Parma ham, buffalo mozzarella, pizza super perfect. I had an awesome porcini mushrooms risotto,... More

Staying in Nolita

Neighbourhood Profile
Nolita
Despite being just off of busy Houston Street, Nolita maintains a low-key vibe that makes it a pleasant retreat in the heart of lower Manhattan. Short for “North of Little Italy,” Nolita was once considered to be part of Little Italy. Today, the neighbourhood is popular with young fashionistas popping in and out of the chic independent boutiques that line Mulberry, Mott and Elizabeth Streets. In addition to shopping, there are cozy restaurants and sidewalk cafes serving everything from new-school Italian food to the world-famous cronuts. While small in size (Nolita stretches just a few blocks in each direction), it’s a great neighbourhood to spend an afternoon people watching, window-shopping, and grabbing a bite to eat.
