We booked on Opentable and viewed menu - on arrival prices weee up to 40% higher. This is just a ‘bait and switch’ tactic. Once there food mediocre and service that just tries to turn tables.

From the warm friendly welcoming, a nice dry Martini at the bar to the soulful smell coming from the open kitchen - Peasant satisfies all senses. It was simply an outstanding experience. The suckling pig dish was off the chart and all topped with a...More

Sadly, the days of authentic mom and pop Italian restaurants in NYC’s Little Italy are at best a memory, overtaken by low-quality tourist traps with more investment in advertising than quality. Peasant is an exception - maybe THE exception. High class cuisine and service in...More

The food here is so delicious! We went for a date night and had a great time. The overall feel of the place is relaxed. Cool industrial style decor and super friendly staff. Still dreaming of the food, it was that good! This place is...More

Excellent choice in the Nolita Area - great pasta and roast dishes prepared in their wood fired oven. I have been coming here for years. Works well for large parties if you call ahead as well. We enjoy eating at the bar.

So, love this restaurant for the rich, unashamedly earthy approach to dining. The polenta and mushroom appetizer is a perfectly balanced, deeply savory dish that is absolutely high calorie and wonderful. Next stop? Why, the whole roast suckling pig special with a cracklin’ rib. Intensely...More

We have dined at Peasant numerous times in the past when visiting New York and it still remains one of the best restaurants in New York. The chef is one of the few who still cooks in the kitchen every night. The food is Italian...More

The Wild Boar Ragu was excellent. Pizza was good. Nice wine list. Bread was good albeit a slight bit too blackened of crust.

Nolita
Despite being just off of busy Houston Street, Nolita
maintains a low-key vibe that makes it a pleasant
retreat in the heart of lower Manhattan. Short for
“North of Little Italy,” Nolita was once considered to
be part of Little Italy. Today, the neighbourhood is
popular with young fashionistas popping in and out of
the chic independent boutiques that line Mulberry,
Mott and Elizabeth Streets. In addition to shopping,
