My husband and I flew to NYC to have dinner on my birthday with 2 of our kids living in Brooklyn and with out of town friends and their NYC kids. Dinner on a Saturday night for 11 isn't always easy. Not many places can accommodate. I had eaten at Gigino's a number of times because we stay in Liberty... More

Great appetizers, entree's, specials, and deserts. Dinner for four and this restaurant was great. If you are looking for Italian food this is the place. Everything we had was fantastic and the service was great. We had such a good time we were the last people in the place and they told us to take our time leaving. Home made... More

We have only catered from Gigino's - TWICE! It was amazing. Mushroom Risotto is outstanding, the Meatballs are fantastic, Penne al Vodka sauce traditional and the broccoli rabe is fresh and butternut squash salad with beets and goat cheese is a must!! The first catering party we threw was in Tribeca and the delivered the trays to us. 30 people... More

Delicious Tagliatelle Bolognese. Great glass of Spanish Rose. Cozy space but not too loud, great ambiance. Yum!

We were staying nearby at the Conrad and could walk to this wonderful restaurant. The food was delicious, we all had pastas. The atmosphere was warm and friendly and you got a real feel of the neighborhood. We were here for Christmas Dinner. It's very much like a true Italian restaurant, the tables are close to each other and there's... More

We ate here on a recent trip to New York City to visit my daughter and we're very pleasantly surprised. We ordered a variety of items. The calamari was excellent, asparagus soup was very good, the chicken parmesan, gnocchi with meatballs and beef cannelloni all outstanding. The service was very good. It was a little loud like previous reviewers said... More

We had dinner our first night during our last stay in NYC at this very nice restaurant at the recommendation of the concierge at our hotel. We loved the place and the raviolini and ravioli which we had that night. On our last day we went back to have lunch and were equally pleased. Wonderful food and good service.

Gigino Trattoria opened its doors in August of 1994. The owners, Bob Giraldi and Phil Suarez, along with executive chef Luigi Celentano, have kept Gigino flourishing in the ever-changing Tribeca neighborhood. Chef Celentano creates both the menu and wine list, with daily specials of seasonally fresh seafood, game and vegetables. Gigino prides itself on the fact that all their dishes are prepared to order and almost all their pastas and breads are house-made. Fresh fish specials are featured on the “specials blackboard” daily, and it’s safe to say we also have the best pizza in Tribeca! Dining at Gigino Trattoria is a pleasure every time!

Staying in TriBeCa

Neighbourhood Profile
What’s in a name? In this case it is the unique title of “Triangle Below Canal Street” that became a popular nickname in the 1970s. An attractive neighbourhood filled with handsome lofts on the edge of the Financial District, this lovely slice of Manhattan offers plenty of fine dining experiences and art galleries. Plus, it’s home to the city’s most exciting film event, the Tribeca Film Festival, that takes place here every year. TriBeCa is a great place to take a leisurely stroll before stopping into one of the many local restaurants or bars for a satisfying meal and cocktail. You’ll see families out for an afternoon walk, and don’t be surprised to come up with the occasional celebrity sighting. With such a great vibe, many of the city’s most famous residents call this neighbourhood home.
