I went with the sashimi special for lunch with my friend, and it was superbly delicious and beautifully presented. Also, quite an excellent value given the super high quality of fish. I felt like I was actually having something out of the ordinary.

Came here with a group of 3 for dinner on a Monday night around 730 pm. No reservation/no problem... seated immediately. Edamame to start followed by a bunch of rolls. My favorite was the passage to India with it's outstanding curry flavor. Ate like a king for a very fair price. Would absolutely return.

Takahachi Tribeca is in an unassuming building, and unless you are observant you could walk right by the restaurant. But if you do, you are missing one of the best Japanese restaurants in town. You wont see linen clad tables, suited waitstaff or flower centerpieces. What you will find is a warm, inviting and friendly ambiance that is great for... More

The restaurant does not take reservations for less then four people. We arrived a couple of minutes before noon and had to wait to be seated (they open at noon). I ordered chirashi: fresh fish and good rice. It came with two tasty side dishes. The place got rather busy by 12:30. Decor is Ok and service friendly. I will... More

Arrived at about 10 p.m., had miso, sashimi, and sushi rolls. It was all wonderful, and a server came around before closing to see if anyone wanted anything else. Great atmosphere and experience.

went there for dinner, our daughter who lives in Tribeca and lived in Tokyo told us to go there if we wanted really good food at a decent price. So we did and we were not disappointed! Food was excellent. Red miso soup was excellent, sushi and sashimi were so good, as well as the tempura and the dessert. I... More

You know it's a good sushi place when the wasabi crumbles when put into the soy sauce b/c it's the real thing. I got the chirashi and it was beyond good. First, it just looks pretty. And the fish were cut nicely thin and tasted real fresh. The decor was modern and warm. And the staff was friendly and attentive.... More

Bottom line: pretty good, some rolls better value than others, great green tea crepe dessert. The rolls here are good if not "authentic" in the traditional way: they have some creative options like Chicken Little which features fried chicken, Road to India which features a curry sauce, and others embellished with too much condiments that would make Jiro cringe. But... More

Really enjoyed the edamame perfectly cooked and tasty soup. Service was excellent and not rushed. All of the rolls and sushi we ordered were well prepared. There are plenty of options for those who don't eat sushi.

This restaurant was recommended by The Conrad. I have a particular taste for what I want in a roll. They were able to make what I wanted. Great atmosphere. The restaurant isn't really well labeled out front but well worth finding.
