We didn't know what a Scottish bar was, so we gave it a shot. Great scotch selection and decent food. Fish and chips was too much for one person to eat.

Being Scottish we were so excited when we found out there was a Scottish bar not far from our hotel! It has such a great atmosphere, good music and I love that the bar staff wear kilts. The bar staff were all really lovely! The only downside is that we got charged different prices depending on who paid. For a... More

As a native NYer maybe I'm spoiled but this spot seems nothing else but a tourist trap who perhaps don't know any better. I had to visit one of my clients who UNFORTUNATELY is located within Times Square which I have been successfully avoiding for the past 20 years. Nevertheless I was hungry and I decided to pop in for... More

Some really classic tunes are played but they are not suited for a bar like this... "why does my heart feel so bad" by moby is a musical masterpiece but not the time or place for a Times Square bar. Also came in hungry and I'm not a fussy eater but couldn't pick one thing from menu. Pretty bizarre considering... More

We returned to Times Square after a LONG day of walking with not much eating and stopped into St. Andrews for dinner. Am I glad we did!!! It was an amazing meal, fast service, accommodating wait staff (we had two kids who were EXTREMELY hungry), and reasonable (for NYC) prices. We had the fruit and cheese plate and split some... More

Nipped in for a drink. Didn't have food. Seemed a nice bar on the face of it. Our barman was either new or just useless. He couldn't understand a word we said. I asked for whisky which confused him even although they had about 300 bottles of it. Seemed a popular bar with the natives. We left when some drink... More

I was with a group of about 12 and the seating worked out well. I had the special soup (tomato with toasted cheese) and it was tasty but unfortunately cold. The scottish salmon as an entree was really excellent. It is a classic pub setting.

Lovely pub with live music most nights when we visited NYC but be careful when ordering food as the tip in included on the bill, no problem tipping for good service but our waitress on the night was useless and didn't feel she deserved 20% included tip but she got it anyhow! Worth a visit for drinks though 😃

We always visit here when in NY to get my haggis fix. We had booked a table to give us enough time for dinner before the theatre. We arrived on time to find no table available so had to wait about 10 minutes. After we were seated it was another 10 minutes before the hostess asked us if we had... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
