Went to Molyvos with two colleagues at 6.30pm on a Tuesday night having made a reservation a few hours prior. The restaurant was busy on arrival. I went for the calamari to start. It was average, the batter way too heavy. I tasted a bit...More

We have eaten here many times and have never been disappointed. The food presentation and service is always on target. On our last visit we had Salmon, Seafood Piilaf, Kolonaki and Monemvasta. All great. Looking forward to returning.

We had the best dining experience at this restaurant. We wanted to have a quintessential New York experience before flying home and this place delivered. While we were tourist it felt like everyone else was local. The food was very good. What excelled was the...More

My husband and I had an early dinner at Molyvos during our April trip to NYC. We both like Greek food and were quite pleased with the menu. And we both enjoyed our entrees. Have you ever been to a restaurant where the waiter intentionally...More

I met a business colleague at Molyvos for lunch. The decor reminded me of a restaurant I might have visited while in Greece with lots of whites and blues. Even the water came in cobalt blue bottles! My colleague has the Slow Roasted Leg Of...More

It is hard to beat the consistently good food and service at this wonderful restaurant. Delephina waited on us both times. We love the gyro, village salad and takign our friends there too!

Wonderful lunch. My wife, who thought she didn’t like Greek cuisine, loved it! The roasted vegetables should not be missed. Sea bass and moussaka were excellent. The baklava sampler desert was delicious. Service was excellent as well - courteous, prompt - with helpful suggestions for...More

With the present high level of competition in Greek NYC restaurants, the decor looks tired and the food not as inspiring as it used to be.

Very unimpressive bar experience. Two bartenders - no smiles, no personality. No eye contact or attempt to offer another drink when glass sat empty for 10 minutes. You are losing revenue opportunities! Getting my bill was another effort. Draft beer was difficult to pour -...More

Inspired by the traditions and heritage of the Greek islands and mainland, Molyvos has been one of New York's most beloved Greek restaurants since its opening in 1997. Named after the seaside village on the Greek island of Lesvos where the Livanos family roots originate, Molyvos is known throughout Manhattan for its rustic Greek country cooking. Executive Chef Carlos Carreto takes diners on a Grecian culinary journey through a variety of mezedes and appetizers, as well as hyper-local specialty Greek cheese and honey, fresh fish, wild greens and savory pies - all accompanied by the largest all-Greek wine list in the U.S.
