Cafe SFA is one of my favorite places for lunch in New York. Whether you are taking a break from shopping in Saks or meeting friends, the space is bright and inviting, with views of St. Patrick's Cathedral and Rockefeller Center. This time, I had the avocado and house ricotta cheese toast, topped with a fried Alderfer Farm duck egg,... More

Met some friends who were shopping at Sack's, so this was conveniently located on the 8th floor of the sacks building! The menu is somehow limited but serves all tastes! I would say it's American food with a twist! Good quality, ok portions

Stopped in for a quick cocktail. Bar staff was in a tiff because it was almost closing time. They got ruder as we ordered. The space looks old and tired. I won't go back and probably won't finish shopping here.

We hit here often while shopping in Saks. It is not cheap, but the service is great and the food is always tasty. A nice place to take a break when in NYC, as long as you can not buy any expensive shoes!

The decor badly needs a refurb and while they're at it, replace the single pane windows with something that can keep out the cold - I kept my Canada Goose on the whole time. Its a shame really because the food is actually quite good. The crab and corn bisque was delightful while the turkey panini was similarly enjoyable.

We always have lunch at this restaurant during our annual trip to New York City. The atmosphere is pleasant and we enjoy the food and service. The tables on the upper level have nice views of Fifth Avenue. I had the smoked turkey salad and then the layer cake for dessert.

A nice place atop Saks Fifth Avenue to sit down for some bubbles or a small snack. Nothing too fancy in any way, but a nice bar and an efficient room with a nice terrace (my favorite although narrow).

The staff and drinks are great, but I expected SAKS to make more effort into the appearance of their world famous destination. Having eaten at Harrods and Harvey Nichols in London (which is the equivalent to SAKS in NY), SAKS looks like a dive in comparison. The windows are filthy, and/or broken, the paintwork is chipped and the sealant around... More

Restaurant in Saks Fifth Ave. There is some great window seating in the upper tier of the restaurant, ask if you can have a window seat. If not walk thru the upper tier and enjoy the view just before your lunch. Be prepared to wait sometimes 10 to 15 minutes. It is worth the wait. Great Salads, Cobb is my... More

It is always a great experience to have lunch at the 8th floor of the Saks building overlooking the 5th avenue. The menu is limited but enough to offer you a great options to satisfy all your needs, and the service is always great. We have visited the Café many times, and it became almost a tradition to visit it... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
