We found this restaurant by chance, good find, enjoyed it very much. The food was lovely, my husband has the rib-eye which was cooked to perfection, my son and I had the sea bass in lemon garlic and tarragon sauce which was also very good. The service was spot-on, from a very pleasant young man.

I had the Entrecote, which was absolutely delicious. The cheese plate was perfect with a fine bottle of Merlot. This French restaurant is a very nice spot with a very good service and music selection.

I really can't say enough about how both charming and delicious this gem turned out to be. We were one of two couples here on a very cold night. The food was fresh and service was flawless. If you are looking for both a romantic spot and outstanding food then this place is perfect.

Laura and I went for an early New Year's Eve dinner at this small, intimate bistro in Alphabet City. We started off with a bottle of Alsace Pinot Blanc, a luscious, distinctive wine without the commonality of Chard, and a fruity opulence. From the NYE prix fixe menu ($49), I ordered Feuillete aux Fruits de Mer (flaky pastry, excellent seafood),... More

I had the ribeye, escargot and merlot. Everything was perfect. The area was also a first for me and there's a lot to do there. Many bars open late. Try to make reservations because I believe the name says it all. Only 26 seats. I counted

This is our third visit to 26 seats and I'm sorry I have not reviewed them before. Everything is just perfect from the quaint atmosphere to the music to the perfect hot bread on the table and the food... ohh the food, it's lovely. An intimate Parisian bistro in the East Village. An amazing find. Exceptional cooking. Relaxed, knowledgeable service. Wines are a value. Recommended with reservation.

Cute little restaurant located in a lively neighborhood, great food! Yummy creamy escargot not too garlicky and really good Fillet mignon, it's got good reviews too. Reservations needed.

Cute place, with friendly service and nice atmosphere. Food is ok, nothing exceptional, could probably find better French place.

A charming little restaurant in the East Village. Cosy setting (I think I counted 29 seats so perhaps it seats more than 26 :-) The staff are friendly and accommodating. We went early before a show on a Saturday night and were made to feel very special. Entrecôte Flambée au Cognac et Sauce au Poivre (Grilled ribeye steak with peppercorn... More

Staying in East Village

Neighbourhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighbourhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighbourhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
