Consistently good local sushi restaurant . Rolls are good, and the sushi is good too. They do not have a license so you can bring your own bottle of sake/wine. Cash only. The yankee roll is good, along with the truffle roll. My husband likes the sushi special. They also deliver.

Great UES sushi. Alternative to Sushi of Gari and comparable in terms of quality. BYO and the closest liquor store is a few blocks away.

Poke: Prices were ok, but only took CASH. And I went with a group of people and our dining experience was MIXED at best. Some liked it, some didn't, and one didn't feel well afterwards. The spicy raw tuna was good, not the chicken. I'm really a fan of Chinese food so take this review with a grain of salt.

You want great sushi and rolls? Go to Poke, but walk in prepared: they don't take reservations, you just book a table as you enter this busy, noisy, hidden Japanese restaurant, tucked in on east 85th street. Two things you need to know: it's cash only, and they don't serve any alcohol. No wine, no sake, nothing. So if it's... More

Great service, prices, and fish. We love going here for special occasions! They don't take reservations so make sure to go early if possible. Worth the wait.

Before we begin, this is a cash only, bring your own alcohol place. If that works, go for it. The chefs have a knack of coming up with great flavor combos in their rolls. My personal favorite is the truffle roll which needs no soy sauce or wasabi. Lines form, so best bet is go midweek or call ahead for... More

We actually thought it was a different kind of 'poke' restaurant - BUT we were not disappointed. Their selection of sushi is exquisite. Best I've had in a while and I have a LOT of sushi. It's BYOB, and we came at an irregular time (maybe 4:30pm) so it wasn't as busy yet - but it goes busy real quick.... More

They are creative, some dishes have some NY hints, like tempura eith mozarella. Everything very good. They just accept cash and no alcohol for sale, you can bring your at no charge. Wirth a visit.

This is a tiny sushi restaurant on the Upper East End of Manhattan. The food was amazing and completely worth the hour and forty five minute wait for a table. The owner is warm and friendly and you can BYOB. But be sure to take cash because they don't accept credit cards.

This restaurant is always busy but you never feel like you're being rushed during the meal. They do cram the tables in so you may feel a little cramped but the sushi is always fresh and you can BYOB at no extra cost which is a huge plus. I live a block away and eat here regularly.

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighbourhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighbourhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
