Had brunch today. It was excellent. We did have to wait, but the host was very apologetic and offered us mamosas. Who wants to eat in an empty restaurant anyway? Really can't say enough about our great experience here. Food was excellent and so was the service! Already looking forward to our next visit.

I came here with my family after the picked me up from Port Authority. My dad's friend recommended it to him some time ago and he's a pretty frequent lunch customer during the week. Since he liked it so much, we decided to give it a go for brunch- we weren't disappointed. We got there around 1:45 and it was... More

Now, I actually haven't eaten here (yet). But I just made a reservation for the "The Wine Room – A romantic, Private Dining Room For Only Two" - And I'm so excited to celebrate my 2 year anniversary here! I never thought making a reservation would be this much fun, but I spent 25 minutes on the phone with Scott... More

Why did it take 25 minutes to get a salad? I don't know either!! Limited lunch menu and non attentive staff. I wont be back as there are many other choices within proximity.

We went here for a friends bday brunch and I have mixed feelings, The food was very good and the drinks strong ( vodka in the mimosas). Dealing with getting seated on a Sunday afternoon with a reservation was entirely too hard. We waited for almost 40 mins outside in the cold because tables were not turning as frequent as... More

The bottom-less brunch was decently priced ran for 1 hr 15 minutes. The drinks of choice were Mimosas and Bloody Mary’s .Food choices... More

Description
Innovative American Cuisine, Great Specials & More...If you've not yet discovered Philip Marie, a neighborhood gem in the heart of the West Village, you're in for a real treat. It's here that Executive Chef and Owner John Philip Greco III works his culinary magic in an environment steeped in New York City's hidden past. Despite its historic setting, replete with secret underground passages, a former speak-easy and the shadows of a 200-year old love story, the restaurant's concept and menu exhibit the young, hip creative take on "good ol' American food" with which the owner opened his brain-child 15 years ago. Philip Marie's main dining room continues to set the stage for some of the most innovative American dishes in New York, including wild game, exotic meats, fresh seafood and irresistible desserts. An extensive Wine List & Reserve list, boasting incredible wines from around the world, enables a perfect wine-food pairing for each luscious course, while the bar offers unique cocktails. A warm and attentive staff helps to maintain Philip Marie's extremely devoted clientele.

Staying in West Village

Neighbourhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighbourhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
