We stopped by One if by Land, Two if by Sea, on a Saturday evening after dinner in August. The cozy bar area was warm and welcoming. The pianist played a variety of selections from the 60's through the 90's. The bartender/waiter couldn't have been...More

Not sure what all the recent negativity is about this place. So romantic. Great service. Great food. Expensive yes but so is a Ferrari. Greeted by the owner who will seat you. If you are early take in the music at the bar and relax...More

We had the perfect evening last night at this restaurant. The waiting staff were ultra professional, the host (Maria) so welcoming and went beyond the call of duty, especially with the garden tour! Just such a lovely place, go there!

Thank you for a great evening, and thank you for an incredible meal. We loved our dinner and the service was on point. The little tables and cozy old carriage house-converted restaurant was perfect for a spring evening. When we visit NYC, we will try...More

This is a delightful place. Historic building and beautifully decorated. Very romantic setting. Service was excellent. Food was only average and that is not good enough for this price range. Bread was awful -- a dry dinner roll that would disappoint you in a diner....More

When you arrive you are wowed by the beautiful space. Historical building with low lighting and a fireplace in the bar. Beautiful dusty rose flower arrangements. The hostess was rather abrupt as she grabbed our coats and hats on a rainy night. Our waitress was...More

West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the
West Village is one of the city’s most coveted

this neighbourhood has a unique old-world feel. You
won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan.
Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to

Absolutely not. Any decent casual look is fine. The days of formal dress for restaurants in New York is almost extinct. Don't be a pig, but wear what you would wear to a Broadway show or to church or synagogue. We... More
