We had just finished visiting the new Freedom Tower and I know Little Italy is a short cab ride away and I was in the mood for Linguini so I said let's go to Umberto's. It use to be on the corner but is now in the spot where Sorrento use to be because of a rent issue. We where... More

We visited Umberto's to try out the Italian food which was very good. We all had a glass of wine that was great. Place small but friendly wait staff and would suggest going to this place in Little Italy.

All kinds of Travel guides and History channel documentaries point to Unberto's Clam House as the infamous place of a mafia murder in the 1970s. Thus, there are always gawkers to visit and eventually consume. I've watched this place move twice, every time further South on Mulberry St. in Little Italy, its kitchen moving from seafood Italian to tourist Italian... More

Got talked into going from the guy working outside for a 'taste of real Italy' and on the promise of free wine all night. After one drink the 'free wine all night' came to an end. There was half a dozen of us ordering a mix of pizza and chicken Parma. The pizza wa inedible. It looked raw, cheese unmelted... More

The owner was great, along with the rest of the staff. The lasagna was good as well. They had the best tirmasu for sure!

While the food, in my opinion was only OK, I do have to say the hospitality is spot on. Which i believe is the make or break of a restaurant. We attended this restaurant in the middle of a festival, the price for the food was good, my moms dish was excellent where as mine (a simple Caesar salad) was... More

Great location. Only reason we stopped in was because a guy was outside barking for customers to come in. So we did. Only stayed for a beer. Place seemed quite average, so we continued down Mulberry Street.

Went there as part of a girls weekend. First of all the place is dirty, bathroom is disgusting. We ordered drinks.. The were served in plastic cups and I had to remind the server about my drink 4 times.... It arrived after my friends had finished their meals. I ordered Lobster ravioli, I was given cheese. My correct meal arrived... More

There are so many excellent restaurants on Mulberry Street but we wanted to try Umbertos. I really didn't understand why my fettuccine Alfredo was served before my Caesar salad and my appetizer. Although the Alfredo was very good, I sent my salad back because the dressing tasted sweet for some reason. Although my stuffed mushroom appetizer tasted good it was... More

Staying in Little Italy

Neighbourhood Profile
Little Italy
While Little Italy is one of the city's smallest neighbourhoods, its streets are packed with visitors from around the globe, especially on summer weekends when the streets are closed to traffic. Stroll up Mulberry Street, the heart of Little Italy, for a dense mix of Italian restaurants with sidewalk tables, cafes, and old-school food shops. Don’t be surprised when the hosts beckon you to pay them a visit. Stop in for a coffee and a cannoli, or grab a streetside table to take in the scenery over a hearty Italian meal.
