Great service, amazing fresh to order food. I had roasted pork wonton soup - it was divine, the pork was fresh roasted and sliced thin, beautiful dish, very hot and tasty. Egg Rolls were made fresh. Try this place. YUMMY

Was a favorite for a while, loved chicken with garlic sauce. The place is popular and can be crowded. For locals, tourists and Asisns too ad the menu is extensive. Well priced and you will get your fill. I've moved on to another places as ..first of all I went to Sammy's for several years because other local Chinese restaurants... More

We have been eating dishes of the sort Sammy's serves for several decades - in the US as well as on many trips to China and other Asian countries over the years. Dumplings. Soups. Spare Ribs - and all sorts of stir-fries. Sammy's food is good. We stopped for lunch and were pleased with what we got with a minor... More

Sammy's is a welcoming place with a light, bright space and friendly wait staff. As is typical, the menu is long with lots of choices. We enjoyed the fried meat dumplings and the hot and sour soup. The Szechuan chicken dish with julienned carrots and celery had a red pepper next to it, but was barely spicy--we'll know to ask... More

Sammy's has always been our go to place for great Chinese food. It has a large dining room and it does get crowded so get there early. They have an enormous menu but I am going to narrow it down to my faves. We always start off with Steamed Little Juicy Buns. They are incredible. There is an art to... More

All around good food and excellent prices. I'm tempted to give it a low rating so that I'm less likely to wait in line the next time I go.

A real Chinese restaurant for people who value time, money and good food. It’s as close to a chinatown restaurant as you will get in the village. We were there for lunch and luckily there was a free table. I ordered fried dumplings and sauteed green string beans.. My husband and our friend ordered wonton and roast pork soup, duck... More

On a recent visit to New York, my adult son and I wanted to try something different in the area of Asian food. We happened to pass by Sammy's Noodle Shop on the way back to our hotel earlier in the day, and made it a point to go there for dinner. We were not disappointed. This place is busy... More

The entrance is a bit abrupt in service but once your food arrives you will find yourself warming to Sammys. And you will have pleenty of left overs!

The food is average and the prices are not that bad. However, their employees are extremely rude, and after six(!) complaints about many of their employees smoking with their backs leaning against my door sitting there below the window so they can't be seen - I've had it. I can't walk out of my building without trying to peek if... More

Staying in West Village

Neighbourhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighbourhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
