As someone who lived in Italy, it is often hard to find authentic Italian food even in NYC. However, this restaurant is perhaps the closest I've come to real Italian. The staff was extremely friendly and the services was fast and efficient. The space can be a bit crowded at times, but that's New York! We didn't have to wait... More

A group of us had a lovely meal here. The pizza was nice but would recommend having some pasta. It was delicious. Good value too by NY standards

This restaurant has maybe the best chicken Parmesan I've had in the city, and all the pastas are great as well. The seafood is solid and the burrata is top notch as well. They have massive portions and a fun, busy vibe so it's very popular with the young residents of the neighborhood. If you want a not too fancy,... More

This restaurant is veryyyy NYC, in a good way. Loud and busy and unpretentious. Sometimes a bit of a wait for a table, but they have a good bar as well. The house red wine is not too good though. Highly recommend the goat cheese pizza!!

Not sure how it's possible but this place just gets better and better every time we go. The Rigatoni Ragu with the Ricotta is a must have. Ask to sit in the back of you stop by and the room is great for people watching.

Had to wait until a server got a waiter to get my meal 15 min after the rest of our group. Lame excuse "different kitchen". Splashed us some free wine. When we left a marginal tip, we were chased to the door by the waiter questioning the tip being so small. Classless and poorly run

Lil Frankie's is old school. They do not accept credit cards and it's a casual store front pizzeria. Their food is incredible! Start off with the Fresh Burrata..fresh and oozing Get a few pieces of garlic bread and DO Not go home with ordering the Spaghetti Limon. It's my all time favorite. The chicken parm and brick oven pizza are... More

Staying in East Village

Neighbourhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighbourhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighbourhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
