$20.95 for a carbonara? $15.95 for a spaghetti with garlic? Really? It ain't that good. I used to go here regularly ages ago, returned recently, what a tourist trap rip off this venue has fallen into. Lame, avoid.

Authentic Italian! Small, simple feel with really good food. Bread was great for mopping up the gravy poured out if the mussels and clams. Pastas are perfectly cooked to texture. Great service and food!

Was referred by a store in Little Italy and this place did not disappoint. Service was to notch, food was on another level and price point for lunch was more than adequate. All of our group had the $11 lunch special; choice of veal, chicken or eggplant with penne or spaghetti and meatballs (came with a salad). Been to a... More

There are so many restaurants in New York’s Little Italy, we had no idea where to eat. We asked a vendor selling cookies where he eats lunch and he said La Mela- it means Apple in Italian. We were lucky enough to get a table outside, so that we could people watch. It was very entertaining to listen to the... More

My partner and I were walking through Little Italy one afternoon and realised we'd forgotten all about lunch. Thankfully we were called aside by a lovely gentleman offering us their $10.95 lunch special. After accepting we were ushered inside and were greeted by very attentive staff. Water, bread and salad soon appeared (both of which were very good) and orders... More

For NYC we stayed in Greenwich Village. For our first night's meal we decided to walk to Little Italy to try "authentic" italian food. My 2 nephews were looking through yelp and TA to find recommendations. We happened to be in the front of this restaurant. One of the workers must've noticed us trying to find a place to eat... More

Came here for my birthday last weekend and didn't regret it. Very Italian feel with some delicious and affordable food. The gnocchi was delicious and I highly recommend it. This restaurant has been here for decades and its easy to see why.

With so many restaurants to pick from along the main few streets in Little Italy, we were struggling to choose. We asked a local selling waters where he recommended and he suggested this place. We were not disappointed! Service was excellent and the FOOD, absolutely outstanding. The veal tortellini was an absolute knock out and the chicken parmigana was delicious... More

It seems to be an institution! Online reservation essential, as they don't take telephonic reservations. Honest food, come hungry! Staff is friendly and the atmosphere is fantastic!

Staying in Little Italy

Neighbourhood Profile
Little Italy
While Little Italy is one of the city's smallest neighbourhoods, its streets are packed with visitors from around the globe, especially on summer weekends when the streets are closed to traffic. Stroll up Mulberry Street, the heart of Little Italy, for a dense mix of Italian restaurants with sidewalk tables, cafes, and old-school food shops. Don’t be surprised when the hosts beckon you to pay them a visit. Stop in for a coffee and a cannoli, or grab a streetside table to take in the scenery over a hearty Italian meal.
