We had cocktails, which were allright, since it was at happy hour price, then the tex mex burger and the halloumi salat. Burger was tolerable, fries were horrible. The halloumi was so-so but the lettuce and chicken were dull. Avocado was great. We had a...More

The food was good for Sunday brunch, but the service was scattered and lacking. The Eggs Benedict was delicious, but the French toast was a little overdone.

I have fond memories of wonderful meals in the past at The Cupping Room. No more! We had dinner there last night and won't be returning. The waitress couldn't get our order right, despite coming back and asking for clarification twice. Oddly, after we ordered...More

Stopped here after a really busy day sightseeing in the cold. Great cocktails - bloody mary with horseradish, fabulous moscow mule and chuck a brandy in the mulled cider for an extra kick. The fire was also a bonus given how cold we all were!

I came to the Cupping Room Cafe for brunch today. Two of us ordered eggs benedict, and all eggs were overcooked. Poached eggs need to be runny but the yolks were cooked solid. The food presentation was lovely, the place was lively and the service...More

The cupping room café is somewhere I go way too frequently. The brunch, dinner, and everything is so good. It doesn’t really matter what time of the day you come because the food and service will be outstanding. This is a spot I cherish because...More

The Cupping Room Cafe was established in 1977. It was originally a wholesale coffee establishment. Different blends of coffee were brewed and tasted by perspective customers. This act of blending and tasting different coffees is called cupping - hence the name The Cupping Room. The coffee tasting went so well that the owners decided to change the name from The Coffee Connection to The Cupping Room Cafe. They also decided to open the back of the store and sell coffee and pie to the local artists. The building hosting The Cupping Room is a landmark building. It was the first "tall" building in SoHo and is more than 100 years old. The high tin ceilings, hard wood floors, pot-belly stove and exposed brick walls are all part of the original setting. The Cupping Room was a home for artists and locals. Today it is still a neighborhood place where you can see the locals and the famous come together in our homey environment.
