This place is very busy - reservations are a must! Food is good - large selection of fish and oysters. It is a bit expensive. Service and wait time for drinks and food to be delivered is slow.

We scheduled a late dinner here after a day in the city before getting on the train to head back to CT. Having never been to NYC before, this was the capstone to my visit in a number of ways. The location itself is beautiful and historic. The staff was NY friendly - which is to say gruff and short,... More

I love oysters and trying them from different regions! Their selection is one of the best i have seen. They had about 15-20 different oysters mostly from the east coast. My personal favorites are Rhode Island and PEI. I tried a variety from Mass, NY, and Maine. Of those three I enjoyed the Maine oysters better than Mass and NY.... More

I used to love this place. I went with my Dad who had an office nearby. A few years ago they renovated but kept it similar and it seemed like it had a new lease on life. The problem is that the food never improved, but all the food around it did. And the prices are ridiculous. Go read the... More

I'm disappointed you're not as big of a fan of our food and atmosphere as you used to be. We like to think our prices reflect the high quality of seafood we serve, so it's a bummer you weren't impressed with our menu on your recent visit with your dad. I hope you'll give us another shot to remind you... More

Hidden away in Grand Central Terminal - it's worth finding and frequenting. Very low-key atmosphere, but very charming of yesteryear. Oysters were so fresh and wonderful. The little side of breadcrisps and crackers were the perfect accompaniment. I also ordered the oyster pot. It was prepared perfectly and was very tasty. Although i didn't realize it was a cream-based stew... More

As a fan of lobster rolls, this is a great location to enjoy a bite of deliciouness while enroute to a meeting or on the way home. They also have a great cocktail and wine menu, so it's also a great place to pass the time.

Went there to see this grand old place. It was very busy even at 2pm in the afternoon. Multiple areas to eat. We chose to eat in the section that reminded us of the gentlemen's bar/cigar area with lots of dark wood. There even was a coat check girl! How 1920s elegant! We were only there for 45 minutes or... Description
Grand Central Oyster Bar is the ultimate experience for any seafood. Lover. From the market to your plate, we've spent nearly a hundred years perfecting our seafood dishes. Every morning, the chef goes to the New Fulton Fish Market to personally pick the day's freshest seafood. Everything from lobster to different kinds of fish is hand-picked for the best flavor and freshness. We're most famous for our oysters though, with over 30 different varieties on any given day. Have your dishes prepared minimally, or choose to have your meal in the form of a po' boy. Whatever floats your boat. To go with your Oysters, our extensive wine list has over 400 wines by the glass or bottle, 55 of which are priced under $38. We love sharing our great seafood, so we like to keep everything, including our prices, accessible. Come in for our Happy Hours (menu on website), where you and your friends can pick up some fresh food and drinks at prices so good it's fishy! Across our restaurant we have more than 450 tables across two dining rooms. Traditional experiences are supplemented by our saloon, which features a large bar. Instead, you could choose to sit at Oyster Bay, where you can watch your Oysters being shucked. The Grand Central Oyster Bar has always been a social experience, bustling with buzz, activity and a rich history. There is truly nowhere else like it!

Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
