This place is seriously good and they try so hard. Pastrami is unbelievable , so is the brisket . Great pickles , and try the stuffed Derma . Stuffed intestine, but don't let that put you off , it was beautiful with the gravy. Samples we're free flowing . Small eatery , great for lunch .

I was a little skeptical of this place, being an avid Katz's fan, but I was pleasantly surprised. I think I heard about this place as a pastrami contender from Anthony Bourdain. It's a little hole in the wall with minimal seating. I guess I was lucky to get a seat when I got there, but am not sure how... More

Had the pastrami sandwich, potato kanish, pickles and matzo ball soup. All was good and tasty. The place is very small, but service was friendly. It was crowded and there was a line waiting for a table. Plan ahead if your wanting to eat in. The sandwich fed three.

The best pastrami sandwich I've ever eaten. Perfectly prepared on excellent rye bread. Melts in your mouth. Rewarding taste.

Had a GREAT pastrami sandwich here on our visit to New York! Pastrami was nice and lean and piled high on excellent rye bread. Pastrami lovers, you couldn't ask for anything better!

I just had the "pleasure" of receiving a order of chicken noodle soup and a kenish. I noticed that the noodle soup did not come with any chicken or carrots. I called the Pastrami Queen and was told that they soup does not come with chicken and "very little carrots." I was told that the soup comes with 1-2 pieces... More

Visiting friends in NYC last week on upper east side, we just walked past the "queen". Seeing this place and then taking a quick pit stop at this site, that confirmed what we felt. With no place to sit but having huge appetites, we ordered two pastrami sandwiches, cole slaw, Russian dressing and two cream sodas to go. While my... More

Went back to Pastrami Queen today and it. Was better than ever. The Pastrami is lean without being, dry, rye bread is fresh and pickles and sides are terrific. I Called my order in and picked it up, but they also deliver. Don't expect to eat in, as there are only 5 or 6 tables.

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighbourhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighbourhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
