It was very disappointing visiting this place. Too overcrowded... too touristic ...too pricy for one hour show. The service was OK but still it was the worst experience I ever had in a jazz club.

We are from Alaska. We have nothing like this at home. We went to the Blue Note with a cousin who has been here before. The intimate entertainment setting was fantastic. You are really jammed in though. GO EARLY!!! No reserved seating. I am not...More

Blue Note was never roomy but it has squeezed every inch out of that space. It is highly uncomfortable to point of all our group looking for emergency exits. On top of that they allow children at $45 a ticket. When I complained about unruly...More

Stanley Clarke with drummer extraordinaire Lenny White. Two young buckz, one from Afghanistan and the keyboardist were super. $45 bucks for a table seat. $30 at the bar. No reserved seats. Go early for best selection. $5 table food cover charge. Glass of wine and...More

We recently saw the Dizzy Gillespie Band and Cyrus Chestnut (one of my heroes) and the show was brilliant - everything we expected. Drinks were actually better than I thought and because I had just flown in, I did end up ordering a pasta dish...More

This famed New York venue, in the heart of Greenwich Village, has been featuring many of the jazz world’s greats since it opened in 1981. In deed, a veritable who’s who of the jazz glitterati, from Sarah Vaughn, Lionel Hampton, Dizzy Gillespie, Stanley Turrentine, Oscar...More

Probably one of my least favorite jazz venues. Packed at long tables, you could be the one at the far end. Servers are friendly, food descent but very slow to come. Show we went to was very sad, McCoy Tyner wasn't in condition to play,...More

The Blue Note is iconic, as are the Village Vanguard and other jazz clubs in the city- but go with proper expectations. First - you'll be able to see and hear the people who changed American music. McCoy Tyner... are you kidding me? So be...More

Booked tickets for the DIzzie Gillespie All-Stars and was excited to finally make it to the BlueNote. So many great musicians have taken the stage here and tonight was to be no exception. The Blue Note has your typical club look that was probably last...More

Arturo Sandoval's show at the Blue Note last night, Dizzys' 100th Birthday, was a great experience, Arturo was, as always, Super, his sharpened music skills and his flawless trumpet talent have no match. We we had the opportunity to see Olu Gartin and all the...More

Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was
here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter
culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for
its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to
get a feel for this diverse and energetic
neighbourhood. You’ll find NYU students, street
performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the
fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess.

There's Mermaid Oyster Bar around the corner from the Blue Note on MacDougal near Houston. It's pretty good, but I don't eat oysters.
