Really nothing we did not like about this place. It is cozy and charming and the people are very nice and attentive. Great value for money (3 course menu for $50) - we enjoyed every course. The restaurant itself is rather small and with decorated in a proper old english fashion. we also thought it was very romantic - so... More

I found Kings' Carriage House on line. It is a longtime resident of a brownstone on E. 82nd St. providing a prix fix dinner menu at $50.00 which includes an appetizer, main course with sides and dessert. I was stunned at how reasonable the price seemed and delightedly pleased with the value they give. The intriguing menu consisted of 5... More

Visited this quaint little place today for the first time and was very impressed. The English Tea was very well presented and tasty with a lovely choice of teas With the eats ranging from dainty sandwiches to warm scones with jam and cream to to tasty little fancy cakes, overall a great choiced and would go back again.

I walked by this restaurant for many years thinking it was an antique shop. My wife and I enjoyed the best lunch we've had in quite a while. To start, a coriander carrot soup followed by a goat cheese & portobello/tomato omelette. We finished off with a creme brule & coffee. Wine & beer served only. Charming interior and excellent... We had a superb late lunch here ( also very good value). We had just come from Times Square and the contrast could not have been greater. The service was excellent and the food likewise. All dishes were of the highest quality with the scrambled eggs and smoked salmon an absolute stand out.

Very fitting English tea setting for a shower. Decor is delightful, service is good and everything is miniature. Finger sandwiches are delicious and tea itself is full of aroma. Enjoyed champagne as well. The warning is that adorable upstairs room is quite tight, works for shower, but would not for anything bigger. Service was friendly. The only downside was some... More

It's so unnecessary to go for one of the expensive teas at the big hotels. This place serves a beautiful, refined tea in a more intimate setting and at a more affordable cost. The sweets and savouries were perfect, and the service was impeccable. We met the owner, who took the time to have a conversation with us over a... More

My daughter treated me to tea at King's Carriage House - what a treat! The teapots are quaint and wonderful. The ambience was lovely - an intimate manor house, as was the service. We were well taken care of. The chicken salad on cranberry bread was my favorite, followed by the smoked salmon pinwheels. The chocolate dipped strawberries (dark chocolate!)... More

This is a lovely spot in my neighborhood . I always wanted to go and finally did and what we found out that it was a lovely place, with okay food with pretty high prices. We only went for after dinner refreshments coffee and dessert but thought that even for the area they were high priced and somewhat inflexible with... More

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighbourhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighbourhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
