My son lives nearby so I went to perhaps the oldest beer joint in NY. This is the quintessential welcome everyone "NY Cheers kinda place." The present owner (since his Dad bought in in 1977) graciously introduced himself. He is there every night. Nice guy. However, the bartender was confrontational. I was very puzzled why. He screamed at me for... More

We had a great dinner at the Ear. The food was tasty. I had a cheeseburger which was very good. My husband had a chicken Caesar salad which he enjoyed. Since the place is small, we were very close to adjacent tables. We sat next to a couple from Germany and also two local guys. Delightful interactions with super fun... More

Definitely an Institution.... Great pint of Guinness or few to start or end your night here. Nice, relax and vibrant atmosphere... Lovely waitresses and very attentive. Live music on some night. They also serve food. Typical pub food but not too bad.... So focus on the drinks :)

We were in the area and I realized we were just minutes away from a very cool neighborhood and historic drinking and eating establishment. And the Ear Inn did not disappoint. As we were off to a dinner, we only had drinks and a spectacular appetizer of fresh homemade mozzarella and beefy tomatoes. We sat at the bar. Barbara is... More

Two groups of 1986 Stuyvesant HS alumni found this lovable pub and enjoyed great food this past Saturday night before heading to our class reunion. Food was excellent (I had the rigatoni with shrimp in a cream sauce)! Those who grabbed a beer enjoyed a Guiness while the rest of us grabbed a soda. You need to have a party... More

I worked in this neighborhood for many years. For a convivial and fulfilling lunch with work friends – or a cool down beer after work – this hole-in-the-wall has it all. A real bar with real food. Don't miss.
