We happened to park in front of the restaurant. We were a little hungry after shopping, and it was a great place ! Great food, fabulous menu a touch of Tel Aviv ... and great service! Spectacular Hummus, great Lamb and delicious hamburger! We will definitely return, even for breakfast!

I'm a big fan of jachnun and I've been looking for a good one in NYC, so I was super please to see that 12 chairs serves it on the weekend. Since this is not in Israel I was bit suspicious and skeptic it would be good however after the first bite I loved it and immediately ordered another one.... More

I went to this restaurant with my parents, my daughter, and my nephew, and we all found things we loved on the menu. We love places that offer breakfast all day! And I love fresh salads. My dad loved his schnitzel. My daughter demolished a salmon and cream cheese sandwich. Delightful wines too! Reasonable prices.

This is a great local hidden gem. It was suggested to us by some people who live close by. They come here all the time. If I lived in New York City I would too. The food was delicious, and although it's tiny and tight inside, that adds a quaintness to it that is attractive. The service was good as... More

Good food with nice twist, good service, clean. Not a typical new-yorker restaurant. Is serves what considers to be an "Israeli food", but adoptive to everyone. I'll go again for sure next time I'm in the city.

We had a light dinner at 12 Chairs last night. We had been planning on visiting Marcella on Houston but it was closed while making some kind of alterations. 12 Chairs is attractively designed and looks very pleasant. We live near-by and frequently pass the restaurant. The offerings are mid-East with an Israeli emphasis. The room was at near capacity... More

The food is fresh and tasty (although the vegetarian cous cous is pretty dull). Very fair prices. The humus and small appetizer plateis are outstanding.

This is OK place, but you find far better value for money in SoHo. Couscous was dry, fish over cooked, chicken dry. Only really good was hummus and falafel. Service not quite standard.

Staying in SoHo

Neighbourhood Profile
Once the artistic hub of New York City, SoHo (South of Houston) is now one of the premiere shopping destinations in the world. Housing everything from the most popular luxury brands to swank boutiques you won’t find anywhere else, this is a sophisticated shopper’s dream come true. Broadway teems with big-name stores and people during the day, while Prince and Spring Streets are the other main drags to explore by foot. Take a detour down the quieter side streets to see the real star of the district –majestic cast-iron architecture everywhere you look. What were once warehouses and art studios are now meticulously restored loft buildings favored by many of New York’s celebrities, making SoHo one of the trendiest addresses in the city. The pretty streets of Nolita (North of Little Italy) offer a more sedate vibe, with plenty of tiny boutiques and hip restaurants to seek out.
