Frank's Trattoria was basically closed for two months because of gas leaks in the basement. When I walked by yesterday, it was up and running again. Still rather average pizza by NYC standards, which as you know are pretty high. This is a local favorite of folks who live in Stuyvesant Town -- a slice of life in the up... More

Great food! Pleasant casual atmosphere behind the pizzaria. My wife and I go there all the time for all the various veal dishes and the eggplant parm which is such a classic New York version of the dish.

We were a party of 10. They were able to push tables together to accommodate us. The pasta was so light, the bread was so fresh. Everyone enjoyed their meal. The staff was very attentive. Would definitely go again.

Pizza in NYC is supposed to be the best but at least in Gramercy it is fairly pedestrian but we really enjoy Franks both takeout and the very friendly back room for a full Italian dinner. The place is pleasant, old time, well staffed and just plain pleasant.

The owner is always on site and works really hard. The waitstaff are fabulous and have been here for many years. It is a small restaurant behind a pizza shop. The chicken Francese is beyond delicious. The chicken parm tender and scrumptious. Each dinner comes with a choice of salad or pasta. The bread is always fresh and crusty. When... More

If you find yourself in the area, and are craving authentic Italian food, Frank's is the place to go! Although I have been ordering in for years (and still do, at least twice a month), I finally went to dine in, and what a surprise! The back room reminded me of the Italian restaurant I used to go to with... More

Recently, I ate a large Family meal at this restaurant. From the outside it looks like a regular pizzeria. However, the restaurant not only was helpful clean and quick, but was also delicious. I would personally suggest lasagna and the eggplant Parmesan. It was crispy and cheesy and delicious. Their desserts are also good to it was crispy and cheesy... More

We took some Italian friends to Frank's for dinner. From the front it looks like a typical pizzeria, but the dining room in the back is great. Service is great. Food is wonderful. We had shrimp scampi (which was outstanding) and manicotti (also outstanding). Our friends who are true Italian cooks pronounced the food among the best they had ever... More

Took my granddaughter to NYC... one of the goals was to try a different pizza each day. GRIMALDI's in Brooklyn (near the Bridge) started out in first place and stayed there until our last day, when we went to Frank's Trattoria near Mt Sinai Beth Israel Hospital in the East Village. The crust was the hands-down winner and tied with... More
