Having just experienced the worst meal ever in a restaurant, having visited 7 different countries this year , I think a restaurant in New York should be ashamed of the meal we were presented with. My meal was nothing better than chicken nuggets & chips costing £3.99 at home. This meal cost the equivalent of £40 each.£80 in total. When... More

We stopped here after a Christmas show. The food was expensive, the staff were miserable, the toilets were disgusting for the price of the food you would think they would do a better job of keeping it clean. When we paid I left extra as a tip however was called back and was told we had to pay the gratuity,... More

Our visit here on a cold and wet evening should have warmed us through. The place was cold, I had to keep putting my coat back on to warm up. The service was strange, really sorry but the staff looked like they were there on opening day. My mug had a crack in it, no apology made for asking for... More

We stayed opposite Lindy's and went three times (one breakfast and two dinners). All were very good. There is an array of different cheesecakes.

Went on a whim on our way back to our hotel. It was on the same block so we gave it a shot. I ordered a Reuben platter and my wife got an omelette. Was almost $50 for the two, took a long time, and was just average.

Lindy's is the first place we ate during our visit to NYC. Everything was expensive for what we got. The food was palatable but nothing special. For the price, it should have been a lot better. The best value was my side of bacon that had more pieces than I was expecting. We thought everything in NYC would be way... More

OK, so I've never been here before but remember hearing about the cheesecake in the musical Guys and Dolls, so made my wife stop in with me. BIG MISTAKE. She now thinks I'm a total idiot and I'd be hard pressed to disagree. WAY overpriced. $26 for 3 eggs, poor bacon and 2 mediocre pancakes? $10 for piece of cheesecake.... More

Way overpriced and service was terrible. I agree with other reviewers that this is a tourist stop and not a true representation of the fabulous places in NYC that offer excellent meals at comparable if not lower prices.

Place was a mess, meat in open containers on the floor next to the bar, restrooms hadn't been cleaned even though we must have been about the first guests that morning, breakfast was served cold (sunny side up eggs) for almost twice the price we payed the day before - not even 10 minutes walk away.

If it were not for tourists this place would cease to exist. The food was just horrible... obviously warmed up because it was cooked hours ( or days) before. The soup was a bowl of salt. As a long time New Yorker I just had to give it a try and I am sorry I did. Terrible overpriced bad food..... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
