Stumbled across this little gem in China town! Warm welcome, excellent Dim Sum menu, delicious & washed down with an unusually fine glass of house red wine at a reasonable price. Would definitely re-visit.

The service was wonderful and the staff were cheerful. The dishes were a little different than what I am used to, but I did enjoy my 'hot' chicken dish. I do wish that the pork dumplings were a bit larger, however. This place is certainly worth a visit. Interesting that the waiter uniforms were red plaid flannel. That made the... More

I visited Chinatown to get something inexpensive to eat during the holiday in New York City. I ordered one bowl of noodles that I did not remember the name but it included pork, chicken and even shrimp with vegetable. It was such a huge bowl that I got full just by looking at it. It tastes okay with the price... More

Incredibly place. The food was tasty and delicious. The atmosphere more than warm, and Monica charming and kind. Definitively an authentic Chinese restaurant in the very heart of Chinatown.

We were concerned that arriving late with rather large group we would be turned away, but no, very welcoming and no rush, even though we were the only ones there. Very large choice of food - we started with dumplings and garlic cucumber slices, then roast duck (huge portion) and crispy sesame beef. There really is something for everyone, even... More

Very small restaurant, narrow and they only accept cash. The dim sum we ordered was really good and my daughter liked her beef pan fried noodles dish but I ordered the stewed beef with rice and it was terrible, so bad that my server took it off my bill. Maybe it was my fault for not understanding what stewed is... More

For the past seven plus years, whenever I would visit NYC, I would stop at Shanghai Cuisine for their soup dumplings (I get both the pork and the crab). They would always serve great food but the aging restaurant was barely looking the part (this never bothered me though...I only cared about the food!). Thankfully, Shanghai Cuisine has been renovated... More

In New York recently on a family trip we spend some time wandering around Chinatown and decided to have an early dinner there before heading back downtown to our hotel. At 6pm this place was already very busy, but we were found a table inside, right at the corner of the outside area looking out onto Mulberry and Barnard and... More

We ordered a selection of dishes to share between 4 people and nothing disappointed. Food was served in a steady flow, letting us enjoy each dish fully. Cash only!!!! No credit cards!

This is a nice piece of China among NYC Chinatown. Highlight of the meal was the sweet and sour fish. Very much recommended, friendly staff well located quick and efficient service.

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Bursting with an amazing array of sights, sounds, and smells on every block, a visit to Chinatown feels like entering a different world. It’s a colorful spectacle that gets even more crowded on weekends, when families stream in to enjoy huge dim sum feasts and to stock up at the markets on Mott Street. To take a break from the buzz, grab something sweet from one of the many bakeries in the area and head to Columbus Park, where many Chinatown residents exercise, play games, and chat the day away.
