Wonderful food in a vibrant setting with top notch service. Russian specialties from caviar to stroganoff and a pricey but thorough wine list. Don't miss it!

Our experience at The Russian Tea Room was phenomenal. A Bucket List item, so to speak. The food was divine, the ambience is nostalgic luxury from the walls saturated in artwork, to the Fabergé eggs, to the impressively uniformed waiters. You can ensconce yourself in one of the red leather banquettes for hours, plucking delicacies off the silver platters and... More

Nice ambience, the food is ok, but not very good for the high price. I would recommend just to have a tea and some snack.

Nicely located near Carnegie Hall and easy walking distance from The Plaza, the Russian Tea Room offers a sumptuous setting, delicious food, a fine assortment of the best wines, and exquisite service. If you are in New York only occasionally, I strongly recommend you try their world renowned red borscht and blintzes. They offer an ever changing menu and I... More

After reading the reviews we were a bit put off by some of the comments about waiters. The one we had was stoic but very nice after initial introduction. We had many men serving one thing or another and they were all gracious and some smiled😊. Love the uniforms, they are all very handsome. Feels like you left the country.... More

The Russian Tea Room is a one of a kind restaurant. It's quiet, the food authentic, and the service outstanding! Be sure to ask to Prince Vladimir as your server. We ate there twice and enjoyed his attentiveness and pleasant demeanor each time. A must visit when in NYC.

Great setting but a little light on the food for afternoon tea. Did the champagne option and found glass not really full. Scones were as hard as a rock and sandwiches dry. Service cold and unfriendly.

I came with no real expectations. I just wanted to go to a iconic New York restaurant. I was amazed at how much I enjoyed my pre theater meal. The borscht was wonderful as well as the beef stroganoff. So tender and flavorful. Desserts were extremely fresh. Atmosphere was quiet, romantic and ornate. The waiter was helpful with wine and... Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
