We stopped in here prior to our Broadway show, and ordered a beer. Imagine our surprise when an 8 oz goblet of beer turned out to be $12 (without tip!!). Although we assumed that it was popular due to the amount of people in there, it was too rih for our blood!

We were visiting mid-town with friends and stopped by here for dinner before a play. The food is outstanding, along with the service. Of course, get the mussels - with any of the sauces, but the mariniere is the most classic and the best. Combined with the fries, it's the signature Belgian meal, and the best thing on the menu.... Small frontage on 43rd, less than a block from Times Sq, this is a gem! The front is the bar - you have to pass through this (crowded the night we came) to get to the seating in the back. We had two types of mussels (both fabulous), grilled shrimp small plate, and grilled chicken with French fries and apples.... More

Been to this small and kinda hard to find place a few times, but stayed last night after drinks for a really good dinner. BXL is in a tiny spot off Times Square and if you don't have the address it's really hard to locate. But once you get inside it's a very warm and welcoming place, small but really... More

Yuck, worst meal in NYC. Food was undercooked, waitress brought the wrong order and disappeared before we could point it out. No one came to check on us. I had to spend $3.75 at another local place a few minutes after leaving so I could use their washroom in a hurry. Hope this spares someone else the trouble, this was... More

As real Belgian it is a pleasure to enjoy the good Belgian beers in BXLCafe in NYC. Excellent service and Dutch songs in the restroom.

Small frontage, busy noisy people enjoying real food and drink.A great place to hangout. Service is good even with full tables. All ages all sorts a real mix in the heart of theatre land NYC. Definitely one to put on the list. The food is great.

I have just recently discovered this collection of establishments. I have been to two of their locations - this one and the one down in the Flatiron. Both have a really good vibe - the staff is welcoming, the ambiance/decor is inviting and the food is pretty good. I've had fries at both locations and mussels at the Flatiron location... More

My wife and I made a same day reservation for this very crowded local Belgium Bistro/Bar right across the street from the Broadway show, "Beautiful." The show was at 7 pm so my wife made it for 5 pm. Since I live in Syosset, Long Island, I took the LIRR to Penn Station and walked a few blocks to the... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
