Two years ago I went to Freemans for nice romantic dinner this time I’ve returned for some breakfast experience. Breakfast was amazing, tasty and healthy. Eggs were so tasty as I almost ate the plate by accident. Ginger ice tea was pleasantly spicy. Interior is inspiring as always. This is what I expected from Freemans. This is why I go... More

This is a little pearl we found by chance at the end of this little alley. It serves the most amazing entrée - an artichoke dip - and has excellent burgers, too. Don't miss it! The decoration is also amazing.

This was a delightful place to enjoy a cocktail after a long day's walking in NYC. It is quite hidden from the beaten track, at the end of what in the dark, seemed an unwelcoming ( or atmospheric) alley - graffiti covered walls and camouflaged doors to discrete apartments. The outside of the restaurant is welcoming with plants, inside they... More

We visited last week as our pre-race marathon meal and good lord, I am still thinking... dreaming... of the baked cheese and bread. A bit risky to consume dairy before a mega run, but such was the risk I was willing to take! The staff were busy but not rude (NYC kinda polite?) and decor is cosy. It reminded me... More

The Freemans has an eclectic feel to it with animal busts on the walls, old style wood tables and chairs and lots of seating nooks. The feeling is of a cosy hideaway. The brunch menu has a bit of everything for everyone, the bloody marys are good - especially the bloody maria with the jalapeño tequila. Staff were friendly, service... More

We came here years ago for drinks and appetizers, but didn't really appreciate this place! Staying in the area this time, we came here for brunch and really loved the food, ambiance and vibe. Tucked into Freeman's alley, this eclectic restaurant is very Instagrammable - so many cute nooks and interesting displays. We loved their brunch. I had the eggs... More

If it is rainy or cold... beware that there is NO place to wait inside... if you are sitting just inside the door, it is constantly open and cold! However, the restaurant is a cozy setting off the street and the food is fabulous! Roasted pork sandwich is fabulous as is the breakfast biscuit sandwich! It is definitely worth the... More

A small and cosy but yet so busy little restaurant hidden in the end of Freeman Alley (cross-street from Rivington St.) Atmosphere as well as drinks and food were outstanding. Had their artichoke dip fas a starter and later on their vegetarian dish and chicken as entrée - both very tasty and well presented on the plate. Highly recommended!
