We arrived to a friendly trio of staff who promptly seated us even though one of our party had not arrived. There was a bit of confusion in getting our cocktails but once we did the ball was rolling. We ordered several starters and a couple of main courses which arrived at the table in good time. The food was... More

My teenage daughter is a huge fan of Iron Chef so she insisted that we visit Morimoto's during our trip to NYC. It is a very contemporary Japanese ambiance with glass partitions between tables that afford privacy for diners. Our server was very accommodating and understanding even when I explained that I have a soy allergy. The sushi rolls that... More

I ordered the angry chicken, loved it! My husband would order none other than the waygu. He was so excited about it, but disappointment came when the plate arrived. He had ordered it rare and they put the steak on the hot plate and delivered it, by the time he got it, it was medium. Also, I loved the flaming... More

Great food. Our server was good and enthusiastic and very knowledgeable about the menu and comfortable making recommendations. They were very, very busy but we weren't disappointed in the wait or our food. If you love sushi you should definitely visit Morimotk.

I was a fan of the Hawaii location when I used to live here so it was nice to check out this NyC one. The sushi has always been a bit meh for me BUT the warm appetizers are what does it for me. You haven't lived until you've had the king crab.

Reality check: hip place, design, friendly staff, beautiful open kitchen but... I probably had the worst tempura shrimps in my life, drenched in wasabi sauce and what they call "spicy gochujang sauce", which tasted to me like a buffalo sauce for chicken wings. You would get those in a Chinese buffet but at a Chinese buffet, you wouldn't pay $23... More

Being in a lot of restaurants of that caliber that extremely high expectations. Great design, great otoro sushi however other food was good but nothing special. Meat was burned, service very very slow for restaurant at 30% capacity. As per my parents who where with me, location in Vegas was way better.

Morimoto at Chelsea Market is a great Japanese restaurant. The seafood is fresh. The tuna was like butter and just melts in your mouth. Usually miso soup does not excite anyone but Morimoto's miso soup was delicious. It was served with chunks of tofu! The vegetable tempura was perfectly fried and not oily at all. Their soft shell crab sushi... More

Sushi is one of my favorite dishes, so naturally, I love Morimoto. However, I think if you are looking for a quick meal this is not the place. While the sushi is great it is extremely expensive. There are many other fine-dining restaurants that are better as well. But it is worth a try if you have never been.
