This place has decidedly average food (most of which is fried) but the expensive half bottles of wine means that the overall bill was well over what you'd expect to pay for average fried bites.

We went to a movie at the Film Forum a block away and came here for dinner. Not sure at 8:00 pm we were prepared for as dark a bar as this is. Lots of surfing movies and also sports. Not fine dining. The waitperson...More

Coming back from Coney Island to our hotel in Brooklyn - had to "swing by" Ditch Plains as we hadn't been there since last year. Got there at 6:30 on a Saturday and it was still pretty quiet, but filled in right behind us. Just...More

Good food and drink in a local bar-type atmosphere. Friendly staff, reasonable prices, recommend if you're after a casual meal and drink.

Walked in on a random rainy Friday night to have a few drinks with a date before our dinner reservation. We had already hit a happy hour so their cheesy-jalapeño tater tots sounded like they'd be a good snack to help sober us up a...More

Was expecting something different for some reason. Very bright, lots of space. Went after the marathon on Sunday evening and wasn't too crowded.

Good food but simple and unremarkable. Would do back but more for lunch. Mac and cheese was yummy but I think I do it better.

Funky restaurant with an industrial meets surfer meets cowboy feel. The menu is filled with recognizable items that are elevated from every day to extraordinary. It was so hard to choose, but we started out with cheddar and jalapeno tater tots... really?... yes, really... but...More

Had a great meal at Ditch Plains - a lovely friendly restaurant with great staff in a great part of the city. The menu was great and the cobbled salad was the best I had in New York. I still dream about it!

West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the
West Village is one of the city’s most coveted
addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and
cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture,
this neighbourhood has a unique old-world feel. You
won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan.
Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to
get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you
