Lovely views of NYC and great drinks, but I left feeling disappointed by the service. Me and two other companions came here on Saturday during our visit from the UK. It does take a while to get service. I was told to hand over my...credit card and a charge for a round of drinks was made. I enquired about this as I’d prefer to pay in cash. However, I was told this was just a ‘hold charge’ and would be put back onto my account. Anyway, we left and paid our full bill in cash, yet this hold charge is still appearing on my card and the bank has confirmed that it’s been taken from my account. Terrible service as I don’t appreciate being lied to, and I’m now seeking for this to be put right by The View!More

The food was delicious from start to finish, coupled with a slowly changing skyline, made for a lovely evening.More

The view is a must if in new york. Both thd ala carte and the buffet are good. Great choice of cocktails. The views from both the bar and resturant are second to none. It is a little pricey but worth the little extra just...for the viewsMore

The View’s Sunday Brunch is a destination—a mobile dining experience in a category by itself. As the 47 story restaurant spins around panoramic views of Manhattan, one is spellbound by the vastness of the big apple. The food is a nice reward for the trip...but make no mistake— the main menu is the view. Worth mentioning is the service...all the servers we talked to had over 20 years at the restaurant. When the coffee got cold they made it hot. They removed plates as soon as they were empty. They were cordial and engaging but not intrusive. The bill was expensive for brunch... but you know you are paying for the experience...not the food. Great for special occasions like ours, we were celebrating a birthday.More

Celebrated my husband's birthday here. Located on the 48th floor. The rotating view of the NYC skyline is quite interesting (equipment on Marriott's roof does intrude on the experience). There were three buffets with excellent choices and would highly recommend that you take a trip...around the restaurant before you start. All choices high quality with much variety. One revolution is ~1 hour and 10 minutes. I would return for this experience!More

We had dinner here with a group of about 30 people so there was a limited menu. The food was very good. My husband and I both had sea bass which was delicious. The people who organized the dinner also pre ordered a fig salad...which was very good, and mushroom pasta and strawberry cheesecake which were okay. The servers were very accommodating and changed the wine selection when we weren’t happy with the original one. The restaurant rotates so you can view the city. A nice experience but I wouldn’t rush back.More

We booked a table for 8pm and had a text confirmation our table was ready and to responded to it to say we were on our way. Upon arrival we were met with a smile and told our table wasn’t ready. We went to sit...at the bar $24 for a large glass of red wine and $9 for a beer, the waitress was courteous and friendly. But that’s where the praise for the staff ends. The food is $92 for the fixed three course menu. Our table was ready at 8.30pm we were left sat at the table with menus for a further 15 mins before the “waitress” took our drinks order. The wine was opened and then she arrive at 8.55 to take our order. The starters arrived at 9.15pm. The starters were cold. I ordered surf and turf and the lobster was overcooked and lacked any taste, the only serving grace was the filet mignon which was delicious. We had no room for dessert so asked to take this away and asked for the bill as the time was now 11pm. The bill arrived and the waitress who had done nothing out of the ordinary added a $55 tip into it for herself! I didn’t pay this and she came over to our table with a face on and asked why so I explained I didn’t feel her service warranted the $55 and that’s how I felt. Steer clearMore
