While visiting NYC with my husband, I left him with his cousin and met my friend from college (who came in from the suburbs) for lunch at this restaurant suggested by the conceirge at my nearby hotel. My friend and I found the menu perfect...More

I was invited here for a lunch business meeting mid week. First a word about the menu: lots of "light" fare, i.e., salads, a few pasta and rice dishes; decent wine list with wines by the glass. The noise level was a tad too loud...More

Plenty of people use this place for a first date. Slick atmosphere. Good waiters. We had drinks here and had excellent wine and an absolutely wonderful tomato salad. I liked it- but we were there before it got busy- by 7 it was very busy,,,

The atmosphere is casual and I don't love sitting at the communal table, i always feel I can't speak freely while seated so close to other people. Food is delicious, but very expensive. Would visit again tho.

I had been to the Fig and Ilive downtown, which is a cavernous space with tons of energy and delicious food. The uptown location serves the same amazing food, in a much smaller, calmer environment. The staff were perfectly present to anticipate our needs, but...More

Our server Kendra was fantastic. She was attentive without being smothering, and she was really mindful of food allergies at our table, keen to accommodate the dietary considerations. She made great recommendations (mushroom crostini, lamb chops with a glass of Tempranillo) and we'd definitely go...More

I really like their food and although a bit expensive it is worth iit. The issue is some very poor service that has occurred to many times. Management needs to get it together and this spoils the good that the food dies. If they want...More

Wanted a simple meal. My soup lacked flavour or character and my pasta with scallops only had pepper, no consideration taken for the delicacy of flavour of the scallops. The surroundings are pleasant and the staff very competent though not exactly welcoming. Would not go...More

This restaurant was conveniently located near Bloomingdale's so I decided to try it. It seemed inviting at first and I know how walk-ins are normally treated in NYC, but the restaurant was almost empty and the hostess insisted that the only table available was a...More

Great easy spot to visit while shopping in the neighborhood. The service is uneven and needs some improvement, the food well executed. Great lunch salads, good wine by the glass.

Description
At FIG & OLIVE, we want to highlight our menu’s core ingredient of olive oil, which we use in place of butter in our dishes. From a sweet and delicate olive oil from the French Riviera that pairs well with a Steamed Lemon Sole Papillote to an assertive Spanish Picual or a Tuscan olive oil that holds its own with Seared Salmon with Fennel and Green Olives, and a green-fruit Provence olive oil that we serve with a Green Apple Sorbet. Our cuisine along with an elegant white, green and terra-cotta décor immerse our guests into the essence of the Mediterranean region.
