Stumbled across this friendly bar/restaurant late one evening, had the best food we've had in the past few days. Generous fish and fries and well cooked salmon, mash and asparagus. Most friendly service we have received so far👍

The layout is cozy (Thursday night watching MLB/NYY), but I can see it being too small and crowded on a more typical "big game" night or weekend The food was well prepared and tasted better than your average bar food... definitely recommend the angus burger...More

This pub was on the same street as our hotel so went in a couple of times. Can't fault the place. Food was nice, served Stella on draught and the staff were friendly. Big TV's on the walls showing different sports which was good.

Description
Specialties Sports Bar Live Music Brunch Irish Pub & Restaurant History Established in 1969. It all started back in 1969 at the opening of a restaurant and a bar called "Pig n Whistle" by John Mahon and Pete Mcgee. The original restaurant was located in the Old Townhouse of President Taft on West 48th street, in the heart of New York's Rockefeller Center, the friendly people and atmosphere quickly became the meeting place for New York's literary and banking elite. The new "Pig and Whistle" on West 46th Street, in the heart of the theatre district, has the look and the feel of the historic townhouse where it all began. From the red brick walls and paneling on back bar, upstairs bar that is available for private parties and balcony overlooking 46th street, "Pig and Whistle" continues to follow the same detail and style as that gracious home in Rockefeller Center. Meet the Business Owner John M. Business Owner John Mahon son of the original owner will take over the reins in the business. He has trained and worked at many other fantastic restaurants in midtown Manhattan such as Langan's, Blooms Tavern, Pig'n'Whistle on 2 nd Ave and Pig n Whistle 48 street. Helena White will also join John in the management side. Helena has been based in New York for many year where she has gained her experience in Langan's, Pig'n'Whistle 47 th street and more recently PJ Moran's John and Helena's experience coupled with their local knowledge will ensure your visit will be one you will truly remember.
