Had a fabulous dinner on a busy Saturday evening, where many restaurants are packed and full. Staff are friendly and warm on a cold day. We left our stuff there and went back the next day to pick it up. Highly recommended if you want a simple, authentic, and local meal!

Super friendly staff and a very nice brunch. The building has charm and character with a wide variety of food choices for the Mother's Day Brunch. Beef and ham cut by a server, eggs, french toast souffle, hash browns, mac & cheese, desserts . . . . Very fair price.

The food is good, especially the sausage (almost exactly like my Polish Granny used to make!), potato pancakes, and virtinai (meat filled dumplings), and stuffed mushrooms. The cabbage rolls are huge and the filling scrumptious, but I thought the cabbage wrapping too sweet. I did not care for the sauerkraut, which I also thought too sweet. After tasting, I avoided... Saturday 6pm; Parking lot almost full; Restaurant did not appear full, so must have been a party in another area. Greeted at the door, and taken to our table. Provided with menus and given time to peruse them. Bottle of wine ordered and brought in a cooler. Server asked who would do the "sampling"...my wife did and accepted it; server... More

Love Euro food, and this was mostly a hit! 3 of us shared a pierogies appetizer, 4 homemade perogies with sweet sauteed onions and sour cream...not the best I've had but good. Wife got cabbage roll with mashed potatoes and vegetable and liked it very much. Son got chicken paprikash w/ spatzle and loved it, although it was different from... More

This was my first introduction to German food, and my interest is definitely peaked. I ordered the Amber sampler which included a cabbage roll, potato cakes, pieroges, and a brat. The brat was my least favorite, but that cabbage roll will make you wanna slap your momma. Well you better not, but you get the point. The jager schnitzel was... More

We had a great dinner here while passing through Dayton! The wait staff were helpful and welcoming. Many beers to choose from, and kid meals prices are great for what they get. The portions are large-ish, and the food is a great change of pace for your normal vacation dinners out!

I ran across this place on TripAdvisor as I would have likely never found it on my own. While I do have a thing for German restaurants this one rates very high for me. The cabbage rolls are heavenly. The dining room is very interesting as they have stained glass windows in the front and dark wood that makes it... More

The Amber Rose is a must go in Dayton, especially if you like sausage and sauerkraut. I admit, I do not like either of these things, but I tried the cabbage rolls and I was impressed. They do have food for non-adventurous food such as myself and I had the BBQ chicken with potatoes. It was so good and the... More

The Amber Rose Restaurant and Catering specializes in homemade Eastern European Cusine including German, Lithuanian, Polish, Hungarian, Russian and Italian cuisines. Our bar is made of imported Turkish marble, perfect for having an appetizer and spirits with friends. Our beer and wine lists consist of exemplary, hard-to-find European beverages. The building is located in the heart of Old North Dayton. We also specialize in custom catering to fit any of your needs. History of the Building The building, in which The Amber Rose Restaurant is located, was origionally built in 1910 by Sigmund Ksiezopolski. It ran as a general store and deli named Sig’s up until the early 1980′s. The family ran the general store downstairs and resided upstairs as their family quarters. The National Guard stayed with the family during the Great Flood of 1913. In 1989 Elinor Sluzas acquired the building with the intention of opening a restaurant. Before the scheduled grand opening there was a horrific fire and a portion of the building had to be rebuilt. The restaurant officially opened for businesss in 1990. Elinor may have retired but her recipes have stayed the same. Enjoy our homemade cuisines in our European Cafe inspired dining room. There are two private banquet rooms located in the building to host events or we can cater to any requested location. Quality catering and banquet services at our place or yours
