Like Morty said on Seinfeld: "cheap fabric and dim lighting that's how you move fabric." Well the bookstore took this philosophy and applied it to food. Thoroughly underwhelmed by this hip, no substance basement bistro.

We have been to the Bookstore on several occasions, and have always had a great meal. I personally love the short ribs they serve, I always have more than enough for lunch the next day. We recently had homemade pierogies with a cheddar beer sauce which were amazing, hope they think about keeping them on the menu. The drinks are... More

Went to dinner with some friends and decided to give the Bookstore a try. It is very non descript from the outside, which added to mystery. The whole theme is a roaring 20's speakeasy. They had some very inventive and flavorful cocktails to start the meal. The place is very small and there is no place at the bar to... More

My husband and I were in the area and looking for somewhere fun with live music on a Saturday evening. We heard about the Bookstore Speakeasy on the internet happenings in the area. Definitely could have missed it if we weren't looking for it. It was like taking a step back in time. We didn't have a reservation, but were... More

A very hard to find restaurant, but I think they do this intentionally- speakeasy and all. Dark inside, not wheelchair accessible, only one bathroom. #silversagers bring your glasses and a light! Wait staff was wonderful. The food was tasty but had the tiniest portions we'd ever seen. Which of course, made everything overpriced. Drinks were super small but packed with... More

After a few failed attempts at communicating with this restaurant, we finally got there. The atmosphere was interesting, the place is extremely dark. The menu... not so impressive. We don't mind at all spending money on good food. I do however mind being charged $20 for 3 small pcs of smoked salmon and 3 pc of smaller yet cheddar cheese,... More

LOVE,LOVE,LOVE this place! The feel is like a 1920's speakeasy and if you go on Friday nights, they have live music. I was never a fan of the 20's type music, but it was really enjoyable. The food was fabulous and I would definitely recommend this place and go there again. The food is a bit pricey, but I purchased... More

This is our second time here and the food has been excellent. We had the homemade pickles, Caesar salad, small plate of mussels, mushroom paperdell. Everyone enjoyed their food. For dessert I had liquid dessert called the fire Marshall, my husband had the chocolate torte. Both were delicious but the marshall was very strong which the server did inform me... More

I purchased a Groupon for this restaurant. It was different and a neat place to visit once but I wouldn't go back. The meals are very much overpriced and unbeknownst to us, we were charged a cover charge for the "meh" jazz band that was playing while we were eating. I was very surprised to see the charge when we... More

Sincerely, I do not gain any enjoyment from disparaging a merchant, I do not want to jeopardize anyone's livelihood. Most times I don't review when its negative. ... This is an exception. My wife, myself and another couple went to dinner here on Saturday 11 February. They are very overpriced. ... To be clear, I do not mind paying whatever... More
