I had heard of Zahav many times, but after it made Eater’s 38 most essential restaurants of America 2017 list, it became a must do - and they knocked the ball out of the park with the “party time” feast, Mesibah. Pro tip: Come hungry....More

I went there with a colleague the other night (we were in for a convention from out of town) and had a wonderful meal. We did not have reservations, but they said we could wait for a seat at the bar. The physical atmosphere in...More

If I were a restauranteur, I'd be aiming to poach Gabe (barkeep, server, ambassador) by road, river or rail (Nicole too if I could get a 2-fer). As hopping as the bar is (even @ 5:30 on weeknights), he is not only unfailingly gracious, but...More

This is one of the very best restaurants I have eaten at anywhere in the world! The small plates were fabulous but the piece d'resistance was the slow cooked lamb, which was absolutely exquisite. There were six of us so we had almost all of...More

Tasty small plates and good cocktails served by friendly, swift servers. The music in the background provides a nice touch and clubby mood. Con: were sat at a corner table near the entry to the kitchen and, at times, the service felt rushed.

I really enjoyed my visit at Zahav. We did the special where you pick the two small plates and 1 main with dessert. The hummus was the best I ever had. Our server did a really good job explaining the dishes, he was very pleasant.

Even more than the terrific food, which I will come to in a bit, the service was other-worldly good. When I am impressed with service in any restaurant, it is usually because the service staff is friendly/charming/attentive at an individual level. Here, it is the...More

Zahav is a creative gourmet small plate restaurant based loosely on Israeli/Middle Eastern cuisine. The restaurant is crowded and noisy though the decoration is "cool" and the service excellent. The handicapped entrance is hard to find if you do not know in advance, which was...More
