I was skeptical why this restaurant had reservations while 13th Street restaurants seem to always be full. Our dinner was average. Nothing really special in fact it might have been a little salty.

Really was looking forward to Amis after all the hype but sadly the service was atrocious - friendly, kind of spaced out server. Initial drink delivery took about 15 min. Things got better but not really that much. Food was nice - pounded pork chop parm was really good. I won't be back soon...

First the good: had a fine meal at the bar. The server's recommendations for a starter course and an entree were terrific. Great selection of wines by the glass, with some good Italians. The atmosphere--decoration, lighting--is quite nice yet functional. But, the noise level assaults. I was alone, which is a good thing, because it would have been difficult to... More

This was the best Italian food we have eaten outside of Italy, which means it was both delicious and deceptively simple. Both of our appetizers and pastas were superb. We shared both and could not pick a winner in either case. Our server was friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. It was a warm evening and we were able to sit outside... More

Been to Amis several times and have never been disappointed. Food and drinks are excellent. Had reservation for this past weekend and could not find a Parking space. Nothing on the street and lot around the corner was full...what was I to do, send my wife in to order something to go or blow the place off.? Sorry we weren't... More

We came here for dinner the night after dining at Marc Vetri's namesake/flagship restaurant. That's a tough act to follow, but Amis was up to the task. My wife & I came here for dinner straight from Citizens Bank Park after a Phillies game. Khakis and a polo was just fine for both places. We started with the Mixed Salumi... More

Excellent food. Excellent service. Excellent accommodation of a person with severe dietary restrictions. I have gastroparesis which means I can't eat solid food and only eat cooked puree food. Amis' chef and manager were great in accommodating my needs. They prepared passato di verdura for me, they puréed the tongue they have in the menu, they pureed a dessert for... More

If you want a quiet, romantic dinner, head elsewhere because the hipster vibes exposed architecture is an echo chamber. But if you're in the mood for creative, expertly prepared dishes with great service, join the crowd at Amis. The mussels were off the charts good...really how can you go wrong with pancetta and mussels?

Went here with friends on 8/21/16. They advertise themselves as cooking in the rustic cooking of Rome. They did a good job. They have a quite long bar. Our bartender made an excellent Old Fashion. One of the best that I have had. One of our friends had a Long Island Ice Tea and he said it was very good... More

Description
Amis brings the quintessential Roman-style trattoria to Philadelphia's Center City neighborhood. Opened in 2010 by Vetri Family partners Jeff Benjamin and Chefs Marc Vetri, Brad Spence and Jeff Michaud, Amis has cemented its place as one of the city's premier dining destinations, garnering high praise from such publications as the Philadelphia Inquirer (three-out-of-four-bells) and Bon Appetit magazine ("Top 10 Places for Pasta in the U.S."), and from the crowds of regular guests who pack its dining room nightly for dinner and weekends for brunch. Lively, comfortable and convivial, dining at Amis is perfect for a variety of occasions, boasting a share-plates menu of house-made pasta, salumi, farm-fresh meats and peak seasonal vegetable dishes, perfect for sharing while celebrating with friends and family, or a meal out with someone special. Be sure to ask about our "Beast of Amis" menu too. These special dishes feature whole animals-birds, hogs, fish and even full sides of beef.
