The Ethiopian food was really delicious. The service was very friendly & quick. I & my family would go back there any time.

Do not come her if you have an ounce of self-respect. The staff is rude and crude. I would not eat there if they were giving away free food and I was starving to death.

Met a friend for brunch last Sunday at Kaffa Crossing and found that the food and the service were top shelf! The menu was impressive but not overwhelming and the food was delivered to our table far more quickly than I expected. My friend and I shared the vegetarian combo which was delicious, hearty, and just right for a party... More

Background: On a subsequent trip to Philadelphia, wanted to find an Ethiopian Restaurant closer to the Powelton Village, University City Neighborhood we were staying: Kaffa Crossing fit the bill. Verdict: We were pleasantly surprised because a) the restaurant was bright and clean, and b) the food was authentic, enjoyable, and tasty Ethiopian food. In particular, they seemed to use a... More

Great, fresh food. Nothing fancy, mind you. It's just basic Ethiopian fare- done right. It's sort of disconcerting to be in a modern, well lit space to nibble on a notoriously smokey cuisine. All other Ethiopian restaurants I've inhabited involved candles, incense, poorly lit rooms on mini stools. This place lets you see it all and that's not bad.

We've eaten at Kaffa Crossing several times and have always had a really good meal. Our favorite dishes are the cooked beef and chicken tibs and all the vegetarian options. We didn't care very much for the raw minced beef. The prices are very reasonable, the service is friendly (a bit slow, so be prepared to wait-just a sign that... More

We enjoy Ethiopian food but often find the sweetness of the injera masks some of the flavor of the entree. Not the case at Kaffa Crossing. The injera has a lovely texture and a subtle taste. It complements the main course nicely. We each had tibs, but different versions, and were both happy with our meal. The beverage offerings are... More

My husband, three college age sons, and I went in later on a rainy Sunday evening for the first, and not last, time. We were tired from museuming and hungry, and maybe a bit crabby. People who were at tables were winding up. The manager/owner? Was very friendly and prompt. When he realized we wanted a variety, he had us... More

This restaurant was a block away from an office I was visiting in Philadelphia. I found it using Siri and thought I'd give it a try for lunch. It's a quiet cafe with a comfortable feel to it. There were a few people enjoying coffee while working on laptops. I sat toward the back of the restaurant and asked to... More
